Job summary

Job description

We are looking for an Application Engineer with 7+ years of experience and extensive knowledge of AC/DC and DC/DC system-level designs.

Job Description

In this role, you will:

• Contribute to major product cross-functional teams for product development and customer support.
• Prototype and define requirements for new applications and solutions.
• Develop content supporting new GaN and controller/gate driver products, including product definition/validation, hardware & system-level designs/reviews, schematic, layout, component selection for demo boards, EVBs, reference designs, and customer requests.
• Perform deep analysis on products to identify value propositions.
• Create technical documentation and promotional materials such as datasheets, reference manuals, application notes, and knowledge base articles.
• Provide technical training for external customers and support Infineon sales, marketing, and applications teams in customer design-in through collaboration, technical support, training, and failure analysis.

Your Profile

You are ideal for this role if you have:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• Experience with Charger/Adapters, SMPS, AC/DC, Solar, ESS, inverter, Motor Drivers is preferred.
• Extensive knowledge of AC/DC and DC/DC system-level designs, testing, debugging, and device selection.
• Strong understanding of categories such as:
• Non-isolated and isolated DC/DC topologies (buck, boost, half-bridge, full-bridge, multiphase converters)
• SMPS topologies like PFC, LLC
• Motor drivers, Inverters
• Solar, Energy Storage, and Industrial Power Applications
• Experience in product, system, or application development in a semiconductor environment.
• Problem-solving skills and willingness to assist with customer technical requirements.
• Familiarity with software tools like Altium Designer, Mathcad/Matlab, PLECS, Simplis/Simetrix, LabVIEW.
• Knowledge of digital control with FPGA or MCU/DSP is a plus.
• Understanding of switching power components like MOSFET, IGBT, GaN, and SiC MOSFETs is a plus.
• Teamwork, self-discipline, motivation, innovation, and strong communication skills.
