Rotork is seeking a Senior Sourcing Engineer in Chennai to lead procurement activities for electrical and electronic components and optimize supplier performance. You will collaborate with global category teams to synchronize operations and drive strategic procurement initiatives.
The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical & Electronics, at least 5 years of relevant experience, and strong knowledge of sourcing strategies. Frequent travel may be required for this position.

We are looking for a Senior Sourcing Engineer to lead procurement activities across electrical and electronic categories—including PCBAs, motors, and wiring harnesses—along with C-parts like fasteners, bearings, seals, gaskets, and indirect materials. This role is pivotal in shaping Rotork India’s global sourcing strategy, optimizing supplier performance, and driving cost efficiencies while ensuring continuous innovation and quality.
Strategic sourcing: Lead procurement for electrical/electronic components, C‑parts, and indirect materials. Develop and implement comprehensive category strategies aligned with organizational business objectives.
Category support: Collaborate seamlessly with global and regional category team to synchronize local operations and achieve overarching procurement and category goals.
Market research: Conduct supply market analyses to identify emerging opportunities, map supplier capacity and capability, and continuously optimize sourcing strategies.
Supplier management: Rigorously assess supplier capacity, capability, performance and risk profiles. Strengthen strategic supplier relationships and cultivate resilient, long‑term partnerships.
Cross‑functional collaboration: Work closely with R&D, Engineering, and external vendors to streamline New Product Introductions (NPI) and efficiently resolve technical manufacturing challenges.
Cost optimization: Lead cost‑reduction and localization initiatives, strictly monitor commodity price variances, and manage savings/localization budgets.
Compliance: Ensure absolute adherence to corporate procurement policies, governance frameworks, standard operating procedures, and ethical sourcing standards.
Performance reporting: Provide regular, data‑driven updates to executive leadership on Category Localization projects, global commodity market movements, and supplier performance metrics (Quality, Service, and Pricing).
