Job summary

Alpha Plus Technologies is seeking a Senior Quality Assurance Analyst to lead end-to-end testing for web and desktop applications. You will drive both manual and automated testing efforts, design automation frameworks, and ensure high-quality releases with security testing and risk mitigation.

The role collaborates with Development and Product teams to ensure test coverage, traceability, and timely delivery while upholding quality standards and compliance requirements.

Qualifications

• B.Sc. IT/BE/MCA or equivalent with formal Testing coursework.
• Certification in Software Testing or Automation Testing is preferred.
• 3+ years in QA/Software Testing for software solutions.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end testing lifecycle: manual and automated.

Role Overview

The SeniorQuality Assurance Analyst is responsible for leading the complete end-to-end testing lifecycle encompassing both manual and automated testing methodologies.This role involves conducting comprehensive testing of the product's existing and new features, designing robust automation frameworks, ensuring defect identification and resolution, and establishing a culture of high product quality and zero-defect thinking.

Working in close coordination with Development and Product Teams, the Sr. QAA brings deep QA expertise, disciplined execution, and strong quality standards to every testing engagement. The Sr. QAA serves as the primary quality point of contact during implementation and production support — ensuring that products are thoroughly tested, quality risks are identified and mitigated, and stakeholders are kept informed of testing progress and findings.

1. Manual Testing Execution

• Conduct comprehensive manual testing of web-based and desktop-based applications covering functional, integration, system, and UAT phases.
  
• Execute exploratory testing to identify edge cases and potential defects.
  
• Perform regression testing to ensure existing functionality remains unaffected by changes.
  
• Conduct user experience (UX) and usability testing to validate application usability.
  
• Participate in UAT coordination and sign-off processes with stakeholders.

2. Automation Testing & Framework Design

• Design and implement robust automation frameworks according to project structure and best practices.
  
• Develop, design and execute automated tests using scripts and automation tools (Selenium, UFT, TestNG, etc.) to validate functionality.
  
• Create and maintain reusable test libraries, utilities, and components to maximize code efficiency.
  
• Implement data-driven testing approaches to test multiple scenarios with varied inputs.
  
• Establish continuous integration (CI) pipelines for automated test execution.
  
• Maintain and enhance test automation suites to ensure continuous coverage of critical application paths and regression prevention.
  
• Document test automation architecture, design patterns, and maintenance guidelines.

3. Test Planning & Case Development

• Create and implement detailed test cases for functional, unit, performance, security, and scalability testing.
  
• Establish comprehensive test strategies tailored to product characteristics and client requirements.
  
• Define test scenarios, test data requirements, and acceptance criteria.
  
• Ensure traceability between requirements, test cases, and test executions.

4. Security Testing & Vulnerability Assessment

• Conduct comprehensive security testing to identify vulnerabilities, security flaws, and compliance gaps in applications.
  
• Perform SQL injection testing, cross-site scripting (XSS) testing, cross-site request forgery (CSRF), and authentication/authorization testing.
  
• Execute load and stress testing to validate application behavior under extreme conditions and identify performance bottlenecks.
  
• Identify and document security risks, data protection issues, potential exploits, and compliance concerns.
  
• Validate secure data transmission, encryption protocols, secure session management, and SSL/TLS implementations.
  
• Test API security, OAuth/JWT authentication mechanisms, role-based access control (RBAC), and permission enforcement.
  
• Perform penetration testing and vulnerability assessment to simulate real-world attacks.
  
• Coordinate with Development and Security teams to remediate identified security issues and implement secure coding practices.
  
• Ensure adherence to security standards and regulatory compliance requirements (GDPR, PCI-DSS, ISO 27001, etc.) as applicable.

5. Defect Identification & Quality Assurance

• Detect and minimize bugs, errors, technical, security, and functional flaws in applications.
  
• Establish quantitative trends of types of bugs and their recurring frequency for continuous improvement.
  
• Outline steps for minimizing defects and preventing recurrence.
  
• Ensure thorough defect management through proactive follow-up and feedback with Development Teams.

6. Reporting & Documentation

• Prepare comprehensive Test Result Reports (TRR) for each tested release.
  
• Ensure immediate discussion with Technology Team for validation of observations in TRR.
  
• Maintain detailed testing documentation and execution logs.
  
• Generate meaningful reports on testing progress, defect metrics, security findings, and quality trends.
  

7. Quality Culture & Process Adherence

• Establish and promote culture of 'High Product Quality' and 'Zero Defect' amongst Development and Product Teams.
  
• Follow defined standard practices and methodologies for testing and defect tracking.
  
• Suggest new tools and techniques to improve test efficiency, automation coverage, and overall QA strategies.
  
• Ensure compliance with all company policies including Travel Policy, Information Security (INFOSEC) Policy, and other applicable guidelines.

Requirements

Qualification / Skill-sets

• B.Sc. (IT) / B.E. / MCA or other Technical Graduates with formal course-work in Software Development, Testing or Quality Assurance
  
• Certification in Software Testing or Automation Testing
  
• 3+ years of experience in Quality Assurance / Software Testing profile for Software solutions
  
• In-depth knowledge of Software Testing Process and methodologies is a pre-requisite
  
• Sound understanding of Functional Testing and .Net platform (especially ASP.Net) is expected
• Hands‑on experience with both manual testing and automation testing frameworks
• Knowledge of Security Testing methodologies, vulnerability assessment, and security risk identification
  
• Understanding of OWASP Top 10, common web application vulnerabilities, and security best practices
• Keen desire to research and learn emerging testing techniques and ability to incorporate these meaningfully in products
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to identify root causes and structure solutions
• Excellent oral and written communication skills with ability to engage confidently with stakeholders

Added Advantage Qualification/ Skill-sets

• Hands‑on experience on all types of Software Testing methodologies (Black Box, White Box, Grey Box, etc.)
  
• Specialization in Security and/or Automated Testing
  
• Hands‑on experience on Selenium/Unified Functional Testing (UFT) or similar automation tools
  
• Knowledge in Selenium Tools such as Selenium IDE, Selenium RC, Selenium WebDriver, TestNG & Selenium Grid
  
• Knowledge of Android / iOS testing tools and mobile app testing methodologies
  
• Knowledge of Security testing tools and practices
  
• Exposure to test management tools (HP ALM, Qtest, or equivalent)
  
• Sound interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across teams
