Job summary

Siemens Mobility is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for COMOS Customization (ECAD) based in Pune. You will design, develop, and tailor the COMOS Engineering platform, integrating it with SAP, Teamcenter, Creo, and NX, while advancing automation and AI-powered capabilities.

You will collaborate with international teams, ensure high-quality deliverables, support administration, and drive engineering productivity through innovative solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, or related field.
• 7+ years of professional software development or engineering automation experience.
• Hands-on experience with the COMOS platform in rail or industrial engineering environments.
• Strong programming skills in C#, Python, and VBS; capable of enterprise app development.
• Experience integrating engineering apps with SAP, Teamcenter, Creo, NX, or similar tools.
• Knowledge of software architecture, APIs, data exchange, and AI-based automation.

• The Tools team is responsible for developing, customizing, and continuously improving the COMOS Engineering platform used across Siemens Mobility for electrical engineering and rail vehicle development.
• As a Senior Software Developer, you will work closely with engineering experts, product owners, and international development teams to design, develop, and integrate customized solutions within the Siemens COMOS ecosystem. Your work will directly contribute to improving engineering efficiency through automation, system integration, and AI-powered capabilities.

• You will design, develop, and maintain customized solutions within the COMOS Engineering platform to optimize engineering workflows and user productivity.
• You will implement new functionalities and automate engineering processes using modern software development practices.
• You will develop, maintain, and enhance interfaces between COMOS and enterprise systems such as SAP, Teamcenter, Creo, NX, simulation platforms, and other engineering applications.
• You will integrate AI-powered solutions into the COMOS environment to improve automation, engineering efficiency, and decision support.
• You will analyze complex engineering requirements and translate them into scalable, maintainable, and user-friendly software solutions.
• You will collaborate closely with electrical engineering teams to understand business processes and continuously improve engineering tool capabilities.
• You will support COMOS administration activities, troubleshooting, performance optimization, and platform enhancements.
• You will provide technical support to engineering users, investigate issues, and ensure timely resolution of application-related problems.
• You will participate in software design reviews, code reviews, testing, and quality assurance activities to ensure high-quality deliverables.
• You will contribute to technical documentation, development standards, and knowledge sharing within the global engineering community.
• You will collaborate with international cross-functional teams, internal stakeholders, and external partners to deliver innovative engineering solutions.
• Your qualifications - well-founded and adequate
• You have successfully completed a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• You have 7+ years of professional experience in software development, engineering application customization, or engineering automation.
• You possess extensive hands‑on experience working with the COMOS Engineering platform, preferably in rail vehicle or industrial engineering environments.
• You have strong programming skills in C#, Python, and Visual Basic Script (VBS), with experience developing enterprise applications and automation solutions.
• You have good knowledge of COMOS administration, customization, configuration, and engineering data management.
• You have experience integrating engineering applications with enterprise systems such as SAP, Teamcenter, Creo, NX, simulation tools, or similar platforms.
• You possess a strong understanding of software architecture, API integration, data exchange technologies, and application interoperability.
• You have experience implementing AI-based solutions or intelligent automation to optimize engineering workflows and technical processes.
• You demonstrate excellent analytical thinking and the ability to understand and solve complex engineering and software challenges.
• You are experienced in working within international, cross-functional development teams and communicating effectively with technical and business stakeholders.
• You have a strong customer and user-oriented mindset with excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
• You are fluent in English; knowledge of German is considered an advantage.
