Job summary

Alteora invites an experienced Senior Site Engineer to oversee infrastructure and residential colony development projects across Meerut, Uttar Pradesh. The role is full-time and on-site with inter-site travel as needed, reporting to the GM/Project Manager. Immediate joining is preferred.

The candidate will supervise junior engineers and contractors, manage roads, drainage and water networks, ensure accurate surveys, daily DPRs, strict material accountability and timely progress against plan.

Senior SiteEngineer:Infrastructure and Residential Colony Development

Location: Assigned sites across Meerut and the Meerut region, Uttar Pradesh

Employment: Full-time and on-site; inter-site travel as assigned

Experience: Minimum 5 to 10 years of relevant hands-on site execution, with proven work-front, contractor and junior-team leadership

Qualification: B.E./B.Tech or Diploma in Civil Engineering

Reporting: GM/Project Manager or designated project lead

Joining: Immediate preferred; maximum notice period 15-20 days

Compensation: To be finalised by management for the respective grade, based on relevant experience and capability

Lead infrastructure work fronts and supervise junior engineers, contractors, labour and equipment deployment. Deliver roads, drainage, sewers, water networks and external development with accurate survey controls, safe equipment use, documented quality and reliable progress. Maintain complete daily reporting and strict accountability for preventing material wastage and pilferage.

Mandatory technical requirements

• Hands-on experience in plotted-colony or township roads, sewers, storm-water drains, water supply and underground utility execution.
• Personally operate auto-level/dumpy level and associated staff, tripods and measuring tools; establish benchmarks and check road levels, sewer inverts, gradients and alignments.
• Practical experience handling site tools and equipment: trenching tools, dewatering pumps, compactors, vibrators, cutters and other equipment relevant to assigned works.
• Understand deployment, capability, output and safe working limits of excavators/backhoes, trenchers, rollers, compactors and concrete equipment; coordinate operators and equipment movements.
• Read GFC infrastructure drawings independently; measure quantities, maintain level books, verify utility crossings and use Excel and AutoCAD for site records.
• Demonstrated independent work-front planning, contractor coordination, technical problem-solving, quantity verification and supervision of junior engineers; support experience with project examples and references.
• Execute road formation, subgrade, GSB/WMM, compaction and finished levels against approved specifications and survey controls.
• Supervise trench excavation, bedding, pipe laying, manholes, chambers, invert levels, water lines, drainage, backfilling and testing; verify concealed works before cover-up.
• Coordinate underground electrical conduits, utility crossings, boundary walls, villa works and hard/soft landscaping interfaces.
• Check instrument condition and calibration status, record level readings and calculations, and confirm benchmarks before releasing work fronts.
• Inspect equipment readiness, plan deployment and monitor output, fuel/use logs and downtime; report defects and stop unsafe equipment use. Operate powered machinery only when trained and authorised; heavy plant must be operated by competent authorised operators.
• Enforce trench support, access, dewatering, barricading, lifting and plant-pedestrian separation appropriate to the activity.
• Own weekly look-ahead plans and daily targets; coordinate drawings, materials, labour and equipment, allocate work to juniors and contractors, and drive recovery of delays.
• Verify junior engineers' measurements, quality checks and material reconciliations; review contractor bills and variations against approved scope before recommending certification.

Daily reporting and material accountability

• Daily reporting is mandatory. Submit a signed DPR by the site-prescribed cut-off every working day, recording planned versus achieved quantities, labour and equipment deployment, inspections/tests, safety issues, constraints and the next day's plan.
• Maintain daily opening stock, receipts, authorised issues, actual consumption, returns, recoverable scrap and closing stock for materials under assigned control. Reconcile against executed quantities and approved consumption norms; explain every variance.
• Enforce a zero material wastage and zero pilferage requirement. Prevent over-issue, misuse, unauthorised removal, damage and avoidable loss through controlled storage, documented issues/returns and gate-pass checks with stores/security.
• Record any unavoidable process loss or approved allowance transparently; never conceal losses, manipulate consumption records or adjust stock without authorisation. Report suspected theft, shortages or unexplained variances immediately and support investigation and corrective action.

Quality safety and selection standards

Maintain approved drawing revisions, inspection records, test results, measurements and photographic evidence. Stop non-conforming or unsafe work and elevate promptly. Performance will be assessed on schedule delivery, quality, labour/equipment productivity, complete daily reports and traceable material control. No unexplained material variance or unreported loss is acceptable.

Screen out candidates below the stated experience minimum, without relevant field execution, unable to demonstrate the mandatory technical skills, unwilling to work on-site, or unwilling to accept daily reporting and material accountability. Assessment includes drawing interpretation, quantities/material reconciliation and labour planning, plus a live auto-level/gradient check and equipment/trenching safety case.
