Job Overview
The Senior Site Engineer leads day-to-day technical execution, site supervision, and quality control across major civil construction projects. Acting as the critical link between project management, engineering design teams, and field execution crews, this role ensures civil works progress safely, accurately according to structural drawings, on schedule, and within quality specifications.
Key Responsibilities
- Site Execution & Technical Supervision: Direct and supervise on-site construction operations, ensuring structural, architectural, and MEP elements align strictly with approved drawings, specifications, and method statements.
- Progress Tracking & Resource Planning: Monitor daily work progress against baseline schedules, coordinate site labor, equipment allocation, and material deliveries to maintain project momentum.
- Quality Control & Assurance (QA/QC): Conduct routine field inspections, oversee material testing (concrete slump, compaction, rebar checks), and resolve technical issues or site RFIs (Requests for Information) in coordination with consultants and structural engineers.
- Subcontractor & Workforce Management: Supervise site supervisors, foremen, and trade subcontractors. Review contractor billing, measure completed work, and enforce productivity targets.
- Site Safety & Compliance: Enforce rigorous Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) protocols on-site, perform risk assessments, and ensure compliance with local building codes and statutory regulations.
- Documentation & Reporting: Maintain daily site logs, prepare weekly progress reports, track material consumption, and generate accurate as-built documentation for project closeout.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Education: Bachelors degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering.
- Experience: 6-10+ years of hands-on site execution experience in Educational, Commercial, Residential, infrastructure, or heavy civil construction projects.
- Technical Software: Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD), scheduling tools (MS Project or Primavera P6), and site management software.
