We are seeking a highly disciplined and detail-oriented Project Engineer / Senior Site Engineer to oversee and execute our residential construction projects. In this role, you will be responsible for supervising all civil construction activities from ground excavation through to project completion. You will bridge the gap between design and execution, ensuring all work strictly adheres to architectural, structural, and MEP drawings while maintaining an accident‑free working environment. The ideal candidate has 3 to 6 years of hands‑on site experience in residential buildings, possesses strong leadership skills, and is willing to spend the majority of the working day actively managing field operations.
Role & responsibilities
Site Execution
- Supervise all civil construction activities from excavation to project completion.
- Ensure work is executed strictly according to approved architectural, structural, plumbing, electrical, and finishing drawings.
- Plan daily site activities and monitor work progress.
- Coordinate with contractors, subcontractors, consultants, architects, and vendors.
Quality Control
- Maintain high standards of workmanship throughout the project.
- Verify dimensions, levels, line, plumb, and quality before approving work.
- Conduct inspections before and after each major activity.
- Ensure proper curing and quality of concrete, masonry, plaster, waterproofing, tiling, painting, and finishing works.
- Maintain quality checklists and inspection records.
Material Management
- Estimate daily and weekly material requirements.
- Monitor material consumption and minimize wastage.
- Verify delivered materials for quantity and quality.
- Maintain material stock records.
Project Planning & Monitoring
- Track project milestones and identify delays.
- Suggest corrective actions to maintain project timelines.
- Coordinate procurement requirements with contractors and ensure availability of material on site.
Contractor Management
- Measure completed work for billing purposes.
- Certify contractor bills based on actual executed quantities.
Safety & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations.
- Maintain accident‑free working conditions.
Documentation
- Maintain Daily Progress Reports (DPR).
- Maintain site diaries.
- Record labour attendance.
- Prepare measurement sheets.
- Maintain cube test records, inspection reports, and quality documentation.
- Keep updated drawing revisions at site.
Coordination
- Coordinate with structural consultants, architects, MEP consultants, surveyors, testing laboratories, and government authorities whenever required.
Cost Control
- Monitor material wastage.
- Identify opportunities for cost savings without compromising quality.
- Assist in preparing quantity estimates and reconciliation statements.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering.
- 3 - 6 years of residential construction site experience.
Technical Skills
- Reading and interpreting construction drawings.
- RCC and finishing supervision.
- Quantity estimation and measurement.
- AutoCAD (preferred).
- MS Excel and MS Office.
- Understanding of waterproofing, plumbing, electrical coordination, and finishing works.
