Job summary

Painterior is seeking a Senior Civil Engineer to lead project execution at site across multiple locations. You will ensure work aligns with drawings, specs, quality standards, and timelines while coordinating subcontractors and client interactions.

The role demands deep knowledge of civil engineering, site supervision, and safety compliance, with 12+ years in construction or real estate. AutoCAD and project tools skills are preferred, and you will report to the Director – Projects.

Qualifications

• Civil engineering degree and 12+ years in construction/real estate/engineering.
• Experience with high-rise residential/commercial projects, industrial sheds, or interior finishing is a plus.

Responsibilities

Position Overview

The Senior Engineer will lead and manage project execution at site, ensuring work is completed as per drawings, specifications, quality standards, and timelines. This role requires strong technical expertise in civil engineering, project coordination, subcontractor management, site supervision, and client interaction. The candidate must have experience in large-scale construction, real estate development, interiors, or infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities

1. Project Execution & Site Supervision

• Oversee day-to-day site activities and ensure smooth execution of work.
• Implement designs, drawings, and technical specifications issued by consultants.
• Coordinate and monitor subcontractors, labour teams, and vendor activities.
• Ensure work progress as per schedule and resolve site-based issues immediately.

2. Quality Assurance & Technical Compliance

• Maintain quality standards across all construction activities.
• Conduct inspections, testing, and ensure compliance with IS codes, safety norms, and company standards.
• Verify materials received and ensure proper usage as per BOQ and technical requirements.
• Maintain quality checklists, site reports, test certificates, and quality documentation.

3. Planning & Progress Monitoring

• Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports.
• Coordinate with planning teams for schedule preparation and monitoring.
• Identify delays, risks, and constraints; propose corrective actions.
• Track material consumption and ensure efficient inventory management.
• Verify subcontractor bills based on measurements and progress.
• Assist in preparing RA bills, quantity take-offs, and reconciliation of materials.
• Maintain site MIS, DPR, WPR, and ensure proper documentation of drawings and revisions.

5. Coordination & Communication

• Coordinate with architects, consultants, PMC teams, and client representatives.
• Address technical queries (RFIs) and ensure resolutions are implemented on site.
• Attend project review meetings and provide technical inputs.
• Ensure smooth communication between site team and office.

6. Safety & Compliance

• Implement safety standards at site and ensure compliance with statutory requirements.
• Conduct toolbox talks and ensure usage of PPE by all workers.
• Report incidents/near-misses and ensure preventive measures are taken.

• Strong understanding of civil engineering concepts, structural details, building materials, and construction techniques.
• Expertise in reading drawings (architectural, structural, services).
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, MS Office, MS Project / Primavera (preferred).
• Good leadership, team handling, and problem-solving abilities.
• Strong communication and coordination skills.
• Ability to multitask and manage multiple vendors/subcontractors.

• Education: B.E. / B.Tech in Civil Engineering (preferred).
• Experience: 12+ years in construction / real estate / engineering industry.
• Experience in high-rise buildings, residential/commercial projects, industrial sheds, or interior finishing work is an added advantage.
