Job summary

Ernst & Young LLP ( EY India ) seeks a Senior ServiceNow Developer to build custom applications on the ServiceNow platform, including data modeling, UI design, and business logic. You will perform custom development, integrations with third-party apps, and scripted REST APIs to support IT service delivery.

Responsibilities include upgrades, rollout of new modules, and collaboration with administrators to ensure smooth configurations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, or a related field; or 6–7 years of programming experience with at least 3 years in ServiceNow.
• Strong familiarity with the ServiceNow Suite of tools including ITSM, ITOM, Dashboards, Reports, and Performance Analytics.
• Working knowledge in ServiceNow plus at least two areas: Java/J2EE, C#/C++/C, VB/.NET, Perl, Python, SQL, JavaScript/AJAX.
• Fundamental networking knowledge (TCP/IP, ports, firewalls, protocols).
• Excellent written and verbal communication. Senior level experience.

Job description

Responsibilities

• Build custom applications in ServiceNow by defining data tables, user interface, and adding business logic.
• Demonstrate strong understanding of the ServiceNow Development Platform, including custom development, integration with third‑party applications, and scripted REST APIs.
• Work on ServiceNow version upgrades, customizing applications, facilitating the rollout of new applications and modules, and configuring application UI and workflows.
• Collaborate with other ServiceNow administrators to develop solutions and handle general updates and configuration changes/requests.
• Apply knowledge of .NET, C#, ASP.NET, JavaScript, and other relevant programming languages to support custom development.
• Identify system deficiencies, recommend solutions, troubleshoot production problems related to custom applications, and address integration, compatibility, and multi‑platform issues.
• Ensure the latest ServiceNow release is implemented in a timely manner with minimal or no disruption to IT operations.
• Manage and lead integration of new products based on client requirements.
• Maintain and continuously improve processes, standards, policies, working methods, and tools, ensuring tool configuration consistency across development, stage, testing, sandbox, and production environments.
• Participate in ongoing production support, end‑user support, and write software user manuals and technical reports.
• Estimate work effort requirements efficiently.
• Assist in evaluation and recommendation of application software packages, application integration, and testing tools.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, or a related field; or 6–7 years of experience in computer programming languages with at least 3 years of work experience in ServiceNow.
• Strong familiarity and working knowledge of the ServiceNow Suite of tools, including ITSM, ITOM, Dashboards, Reports, Performance Analytics, Knowledge Base, SOAR, SecOps, etc.
• Working knowledge in ServiceNow and at least two of the following areas: Java/J2EE, C#/C++/C VB/.NET, Perl, Python, SQL, JavaScript/AJAX.
• Fundamental knowledge of networking including TCP/IP ports, firewalls, network protocols, and IP networks.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Experience Level: Senior Level.
