Job summary

Policybazaar is seeking an experienced Sales Manager to lead the Direct Channel insurance sales in Kolkata. The role requires a strong background in field sales, team leadership, and business development to drive regional performance and manage large multi-level teams.

You will recruit, train and mentor field staff, develop sales strategies, monitor progress against targets, and ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory guidelines.

Qualifications

• Leadership and team management experience in large field sales teams.
• Experience driving regional sales growth in Insurance/BFSI.
• Direct Channel (Open Market) sales experience is mandatory.
• Fluency in Bengali is required for the role.
• Willingness to travel across the assigned region.

Job Summary:

Policybazaar is hiring an experienced Sales Manager to lead the Direct Channel business for our Insurance vertical in Kolkata. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in field sales, team management, and business development, with the ability to drive regional sales performance and manage large multi-level teams.

Key Responsibilities:

• Drive regional business growth and achieve sales targets for the Insurance business.
• Lead and manage a large field sales team comprising:
• Assistant Managers (AM)
• Team Leaders (TL)
• Field Sales Executives (FSE)
• Develop and implement sales strategies to increase market penetration and revenue.
• Monitor team performance, productivity, and target achievement.
• Recruit, train, mentor, and develop high-performing sales teams.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory guidelines.
• Analyze market trends, competitor activities, and identify business opportunities.
• Coordinate with internal stakeholders to ensure smooth business operations and customer satisfaction.

Desired Candidate Profile

• Minimum 15+ years of experience in Sales, preferably in Insurance, BFSI, or Financial Services.
• Proven experience in managing regional sales operations and multi-layer field sales teams.
• Strong leadership, people management, and coaching skills.
• Experience in Direct Channel (Open Market) sales is mandatory.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to drive business growth through strategic planning and execution.
• Handled more than 300+ employees.
• Knowledge of the regional language (Bengali) is mandatory.
• Willingness to travel extensively across the assigned region.

Working Schedule

• 6 Days Working
• Saturday & Sunday are mandatory working days
• One rotational weekly off.
