Job summary

Cogentix Systems is seeking a QA Lead / Senior QA Engineer with 6-8 years of experience to drive manual, automation, API, and database testing efforts. The role emphasizes strong knowledge of DICOM workflows, HL7 familiarity, and collaborative Agile practices in a healthcare context.

The ideal candidate will design test strategies, build automation in Python, and ensure robust quality across sprints. Experience with XRAY/ALM, JIRA, and cloud basics is desirable.

Qualifications

• Experience in manual testing, UI testing and test scenario analysis.
• Automation scripting in Python using Pytest.
• Hands-on API testing with Postman or Insomnia.
• Database testing with SQL and data validation.
• Experience with XRAY/ALM for test case management.
• Defect tracking/reporting in JIRA.
• Awareness of AWS and Kubernetes basics.
• GIT, branching models, and Unix commands.
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum/Kanban and team collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and execute test plans and test cases for QA activities.
• Develop and maintain automation scripts using Python and Pytest.
• Perform API testing and validate responses using Postman or Insomnia.
• Conduct database testing and ensure data integrity via SQL queries.
• Collaborate with developers and product teams in Agile workflows.
• Track defects and report status using JIRA and XRAY/ALM.

Key Responsibilities & Skills:

• Practical knowledge of DICOM workflows and basic understanding of HL7.
• Hands-on experience in Manual Testing, UI Testing, and test scenario analysis.
• Experience developing automation scripts using Python and Pytest.
• Strong experience in API Testing using Postman or Insomnia.
• Hands-on experience in Database Testing and SQL.
• Proficiency in test case creation, execution, and maintenance using XRAY, ALM, or similar tools.
• Experience in defect tracking and reporting using JIRA.
• Basic understanding of AWS and Kubernetes.
• Working knowledge of Git, branching strategies, and Unix commands.
• Strong understanding of Agile/Scrum/Kanban methodologies and team collaboration.

Good to Have:

Experience with Playwright, Appium, and AWS Cloud.
