Job summary

Weekday 1's client in Hyderabad, Telangana is seeking a Senior Python Developer to design, build, and maintain scalable backend services. The role focuses on Python 3.x, API development, database optimization, cloud-native tech, concurrency, and distributed systems to power AI-driven products.

You will work with Product, Eng, DevOps to deliver end-to-end features, write tests, reviews, and contribute to architecture and CI/CD. The position is full-time in Hyderabad with competitive compensation.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of hands-on Python backend development experience.
• Production-grade backend systems built with Python.
• Strong FastAPI and/or Flask experience.
• Deep PostgreSQL/MySQL design, indexing and tuning.
• Docker and Kubernetes in production environments.
• Deploying on Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• REST APIs designed with OpenAPI/Swagger specs.
• Microservices and distributed systems expertise.
• CI/CD and modern DevOps practices exposure.

What Makes You a Great Fit

• 8+ years of hands-on experience in Python backend development, with strong experience building production-grade systems.
• Expert-level proficiency in Python 3.x and backend software engineering.
• Extensive experience with FastAPI and/or Flask.
• Strong hands-on expertise with SQLAlchemy ORM, session management, database transactions, and data-access patterns.
• Strong understanding of multithreading, concurrency, asynchronous programming, and thread-safe application development.
• Proven experience with PostgreSQL and/or MySQL, including database design, indexing, query optimisation, and performance tuning.
• Hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes in production environments.
• Experience deploying and managing applications on Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Strong understanding of REST APIs, OpenAPI, and Swagger.
• Good knowledge of microservices architecture, distributed systems, scalability, and high-availability application design.
• Experience with Git, code reviews, unit testing, and modern software development practices.
• Exposure to Redis, Kafka, RabbitMQ, or similar caching and messaging technologies is an advantage.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices is preferred.
• Experience building or integrating AI/ML-enabled applications is an advantage.
• Strong understanding of monitoring, logging, observability, and application performance optimisation.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a focus on scalable and reliable solutions.
