Job summary

Gajpati Industries is seeking a Purchase Executive to handle procurement for construction projects in Gujarat. The role involves coordinating with project, site, store, and engineering teams to define material requirements and to issue RFQs to suppliers.

The candidate will compare quotations, negotiate terms, and manage POs while ensuring on-time delivery and material verification at sites. Industry experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Procure construction materials, equipment, and consumables as per project needs.
• Coordinate with project, site, store and engineering teams to capture material requirements.
• Prepare and issue RFQs to suppliers and collect quotations.
• Compare quotations on price, quality, delivery time, terms and specs.
• Negotiate with vendors for competitive pricing and favorable terms.
• Identify and onboard new suppliers for project requirements.
• Prepare Purchase Orders with proper approvals.
• Follow up with suppliers to ensure on-time delivery to sites.
• Monitor material availability to avoid shortages or delays.
• Coordinate with store/inventory for receipt and verification of materials.
• Maintain records for vendors, quotations, POs and invoices.
• Procure items like cement, steel, aggregates, sand, bitumen, pipes, electrical items and site consumables.

Purchase Executive Roles & Responsibilities

• Handle procurement of construction materials, equipment, tools, and consumables as per project requirements.
• Coordinate with Project, Site, Store, and Engineering teams to understand material requirements.
• Prepare and issue RFQs (Request for Quotations) to suppliers and collect quotations.
• Compare quotations based on price, quality, delivery time, payment terms, and specifications.
• Negotiate with vendors to achieve competitive prices and better commercial terms.
• Identify, evaluate, and develop new suppliers/vendors for project requirements.
• Prepare Purchase Orders (POs) and ensure proper approval before placing orders.
• Follow up with suppliers for on-time delivery at project sites.
• Monitor material availability and avoid shortage or delays that can affect project work.
• Coordinate with the Store/Inventory team for material receipt and quality/quantity verification.
• Maintain purchase records, vendor details, quotations, POs, and invoices.
• Handle procurement of materials such as cement, steel, aggregates, sand, bitumen, pipes, electrical items, safety materials, construction chemicals, and other site consumables, as applicable.
