Job summary

Persistent Systems in Pune seeks an experienced Senior Project Manager with a strong Healthcare IT delivery background to lead complex projects and drive successful outcomes.

You will manage scope, governance, budgets, and schedules across Agile, Waterfall, and Hybrid environments, coordinating with regional teams, vendors, and clinical stakeholders to ensure quality and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of experience in Project Management, with significant exposure to Healthcare IT programs and initiatives.
• Proven track record of delivering large-scale healthcare technology projects and digital transformation programs.
• Strong expertise in project planning, execution, governance, budgeting, forecasting, and resource management.
• Deep understanding of SDLC, Agile, Waterfall, and Hybrid project delivery methodologies.
• Extensive experience in stakeholder management across executive leadership, business units, clinical teams, and technology organizations.

Responsibilities

• Define project scope, objectives, delivery roadmap, milestones, dependencies, governance structure, and implementation strategies.
• Develop and manage comprehensive project plans, budgets, resource allocation models, and schedules.
• Lead end-to-end project execution, ensuring timely delivery of project objectives and business outcomes.
• Monitor project progress and proactively manage risks, issues, assumptions, dependencies, and change requests.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams, vendors, clinical stakeholders, business users, security teams, and operations groups.
• Facilitate project governance meetings, steering committee reviews, and executive stakeholder communications.
• Manage project financials, forecasts, resource utilization, and budget controls.
• Drive testing, validation, training, deployment, go-live, hypercare, and transition-to-support activities.
• Ensure compliance with healthcare industry standards, regulatory requirements, and organizational policies.
• Maintain comprehensive project documentation, approvals, status reports, lessons learned, and audit-ready records.
• Mentor project teams and junior project managers to improve delivery excellence and project management maturity.
• Identify opportunities to optimize processes, improve operational efficiency, and enhance service quality.

• Strong risk, issue, dependency, and change management capabilities.
• Experience managing third-party vendors, implementation partners, and distributed project teams.
• Knowledge of healthcare regulations, compliance requirements, patient data management, and industry best practices.
• Exceptional leadership, decision-making, negotiation, and conflict-resolution skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present effectively to senior leadership.
• Experience in driving organizational change, process improvements, and project management best practices.
• Proficiency with project management tools such as Microsoft Project, Jira, Azure DevOps, ServiceNow, or similar platforms.
• Ability to manage multiple strategic initiatives while maintaining high standards of quality and delivery excellence.
