Job summary

Qualifications

• 10+ years of design, engineering, testing, commissioning and consulting experience of Control and Safety Systems in oil & gas production / refining / petrochemical / pharmaceutical industry.
• Experience in managing cross-functional teams.
• TUV Functional Safety Engineer Certification (or equivalent).

Responsibilities

• Collaborate on project installation, commissioning and site activities, clarifying issues or providing solutions to rectify engineering errors.
• Coach project engineers and designers on translating conceptual designs to engineering documentation, including modelling, prototyping, and calculations.
• Lead, supervise, and coordinate teams (less than 10 members) in all engineering disciplines on projects.
• Apply design thinking or design for excellence concepts in projects, including modelling, prototyping, simulation, and calculations.
• Act as a technical lead for all engineering disciplines – evaluate, select and apply standard techniques to perform tasks for conventional projects.
• Execute assignments using established solutions.
• May act as a design authority and complete engineering assignments.
• Provide technical support to commissioning and start-up activities.
• Assist in creating proposals for projects.
• Support Contract Manager in issuing claims.
• Create work plans and cost estimates in own area of responsibility.

This Position reports to: Engineering Manager

Your role and responsibilities:

In this role, you will have the opportunity to be a design authority for an engineering discipline. Each day, you will complete assignments on multiple projects of moderate size or portions of major projects in a cost-effective manner. You will also showcase your expertise by ensuring assignments are completed in accordance with contract specifications, quality standards, safety requirements, and cybersecurity policies and standards.

This role is contributing to the Process Automation business for Energy Industries division based in Bangalore, India.

• Collaborating on project installation, commissioning, and site activities, to clarify potential issues or provide solutions to rectify the engineering errors.
• Coaching the project engineers and designers on the translation of conceptual designs to engineering documentation, including modelling, prototyping, and calculations.
• Leading, supervising, and coordinating teams (less than 10 members) in all engineering disciplines (both in-house and outsourced) on projects.

Qualifications for the role:

• Minimum 10 years of design, engineering, testing, commissioning and consulting experience of Control and Safety Systems in oil & gas production / refining / petrochemical / pharmaceutical industry.
• Experience in managing cross-functional teams.
• TUV Functional Safety Engineer Certification (or equivalent).
• Working knowledge of the Safety Lifecycle and participation in functional safety assessments.
• Working knowledge of IEC61508 and IEC61511.
• Proficiency in Safety System design, application programming, hardware design, and HMI graphics development.
• Experience in safety system hardware inspection, FAT, SAT, loop checks, start-up and commissioning.
