Job summary

ABB Bangalore seeks an experienced electrical engineering professional to lead primary and detail engineering for offshore/onshore E-house projects. You will ensure efficient, cost-effective execution across electrical disciplines in line with contracts, quality, safety, and cybersecurity standards.

The role focuses on delivering optimized electrical solutions, data sheets, and schematics, with responsibility for schedules and stakeholder interfacing to meet project deliverables.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical and Electronics Engineering.
• 10–15 years of experience in Project Engineering.
• Experience on large Power/Water and Oil & Gas projects, onshore/offshore E-House preferred.
• Bid & pre-bid engineering exposure is advantageous.
• Proficiency in earthing and lighting calculation tools.

Responsibilities

• Perform Basic and Detail Engineering activities and provide optimized solutions for electrical systems in offshore/onshore E-houses.
• Prepare data sheets and specifications for equipment like transformers, GCB, bus duct, MV/LV switchgear.
• Develop schematics for control and protection panels and MV/LV switchgear.
• Prepare engineering schedules and coordinate with stakeholders to drive deliverables.
• Design calculations: transformer sizing, battery/UPS, DG, VFD sizing, earthing, cables, lighting.

This Position reports to:

Senior Engineering Manager

Your role and responsibilities:

The primary focus of this role will be to act as the technical lead for all engineering activities in assignments classified as low engineering complexity. Ensures that the activities related to all engineering disciplines within the project are executed in an efficient and cost-effective manner, in accordance with contract specifications, quality standards, safety requirements, and cybersecurity policies and standards.

This role is contributing to Process Automation business for Operation Centers and Quality division based in Bangalore, India.

You will be mainly accountable for:

• Perform Basic and Detail Engineering activities and provide optimized solutions for the Electrical system in industrial projects specifically in Offshore and Onshore E-houses. Prepare overall key SLD, Auxiliary AC/ DC SLD & protection SLD
• Design calculations including transformer sizing (Power, Distribution and Converter), Battery and UPS sizing, DG sizing, VFD Sizing, earthing calculation, cable sizing, cable sizing, cable tray sizing, lighting calculation, lightning calculation,
• Prepare data sheet & specification for all equipment used in industries like transformers, GCB, bus duct, MV switchgear (Both AIS and GIS), LV Switchgear, Battery/ UPS system, VFD, DG set, cable, cable tray, earthing & lightning, Communication Equipment's.
• Detail Engineering /Plant Engineering- Equipment layout & section, earthing layout design, cable routing / cable tray layout, cable schedule & termination schedule preparation, bus duct layout, lighting layout, lightning layout, switchgear fixing arrangement drawing.
• Develop Schematics for Control and Protection Panels, Synchronizing Panels, MV and LV Switchgears based on project specific requirement Develop of Block Logic Diagram for MV and LV Switchgear.
• Prepare Engineering Schedule in line with agreed document deliverable list, matching engineering portion of project schedule. Interfacing with various stake holders to drive the project deliverables

Qualifications for the role:

• Bachelor's degree in electrical and Electronics Engineering.
• Minimum 10 to 15 years of relevant experience for Project Engineering
• Worked as Project Engineer in at least 4 to 6 large size projects in Power/Water and Oil & Gas sector domain. Onshore/Offshore -E House Experience will be preferred
• Pre-Bid Engineering, Bid & Proposal exposure is an added advantage.
• Proficiency in using design tools like earthing, lighting calculation tools etc.,
• Basic Knowledge of power system study and network modelling preferred
• Understanding the various International Standard/ statutory requirements like ABS/UL for E-House Solutions will be preferred.
