Job summary

Turner in Bengaluru is seeking a seasoned Quantity Surveyor to lead cost control, tendering and BOQ preparation across infrastructure and international projects. You will coordinate with contractors, clients and internal teams to ensure accurate estimates and compliant tender documents.

The role demands 7–16 years in construction cost management, strong English communication, and proven leadership to drive team performance and business development.

Qualifications

• Minimum 7-16 years experience as a Quantity Surveyor in construction with cost-benefit delivery.
• Experience on infrastructure works, parks, stadiums, health facilities, schools, retail and community assets is advantageous.
• Strong written and verbal English communication and ability to work with multiple stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the quantity surveying team to drive business development and ensure high-quality outputs.
• Prepare Bill of Quantities (BOQ) from tender drawings and specifications.
• Take-off quantities from construction drawings and coordinate tender reviews with consultants/clients.
• Attend technical meetings and client coordination, ensuring compliance with standards and procedures.
• Review own and estimator work for accuracy and completeness; verify checklists and procedures.

Role & responsibilities

• 1. He/she should be able to take the responsibility of one or more items.
• 2. He /She should perform Take-off for the multiple items.
• 3. He / She should support Sr. Project Engineer; as and when required.
• 4. He / She shall act as supporting member for completing / verify the tasks assigned to the team.
• 5. Should review own work with the work done by the other 'Estimator'.
• 6. Should verify the checklists / verify whether the standard procedures are followed or not?
• 7. Lead and manage the quantity surveying team and to drive business development for the team and wider organisation while ensuring the successful development and management.
• 8. Drive a business development strategy for the team with support from senior management.
• 9. Be accountable for the performance of the team and quality outputs.
• 10. Preparation of Bill of Quantity (BOQ) based on tender drawing & Specification includes all works.
• 11. Preparation of take of quantity from construction drawing.
• 12. Coordination of the review of draft tender documents to ensure all systems and components of the tenders are included. Knowledge in initial review of projects, condition of contract, contract documents, specification and design drawing.
• 13. Preparation of tender documentation queries to consultants/clients to confirm and collect any missing data.
• 14. Attend technical meetings with contractor and weekly progress meeting if required by construction manager.
• 15. Client Co-ordination

Preferred candidate profile

• 1. Minimum 7-16 years experience as a Quantity Surveyor in the construction industry, with a proven track record of delivering cost benefits
• 2. Experience working on , infrastructure works, parks, Stadiums, health facilities, schools, retail and community assets for International Projects would be a clear advantage.
• 3. Demonstrated ability to produce results whilst working alongside various stakeholders.
• 4. Ability to work under pressure and maintain a clear assessment of requirements and priorities
• 5. The Estimation Lead must be technically proficient in building processes and have strong written and verbal English speaking skills.
