Job summary

Sandvik Mining & Rock Technology India Pvt. Ltd. is hiring a Senior Product Support Engineer to be the on-site point of contact for the Production Unit, owning local design implementation, escalations and cross-site coordination with Tampere-India.

Qualifications

• Working knowledge of PLM/ERP (Teamcenter, SAP) and 3D CAD.
• Strong BOM/ECN understanding and change management.
• Structured problem solving (RCA/DFMEA/8D) and independent decisions.
• Select mechanical components for performance, cost, service.
• Understanding ISO/IEC/ANSI welds, GD&T.
• Troubleshoots mechanical systems; proposes solutions.
• UG/NX with Teamcenter integration; AutoCAD is a plus.
• Good communication for cross-site coordination.

Responsibilities

• Provide proactive support to production unit and drive rapid resolution of production stoppages.
• Ensure MBOM/EBOM accuracy and timely ECN implementation.
• Lead field failure root-cause analysis and close loop with Engineering.
• Provide localisation and DFM/DFA inputs for Indian manufacturing and sourcing.
• Provide feedback on operator/service manuals and product documentation.
• On-site escalation owner; coordinate daily with PU production, sourcing and quality.
• Coordinate with Tampere R&D on design changes and validation.
• Support item/BOM data management and release drawings for production.
• Mentor Production support engineers on ways of working and technical understanding.

YOUR MISSION

As Senior Product Support Engineer you will be the single on-site point of contact for the Production Unit on all product engineering matters. You will own implementation of local design, escalations and Tampere–India coordination and provide sustainable local engineering support for the production unit.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide proactive support to production unit and drive rapid resolution of production stoppages.
• Ensure MBOM/EBOM accuracy and timely, correct ECN implementation.

• Should have knowledge of ISO drafting standards for drawings.
• Should have basic knowledge of mechanical interfaces with systems.
• Exposure to UG/NX Teamcenter integrated environment, Auto Cad tool is an added advantage.
• Good understanding on working principle for various Mechanical components like Bearings, Transmission, Axle, Engine, Cooler etc
