Job summary

Senior India Private Limited is seeking an Engineer – Production for an automotive manufacturing setup in Manesar. The role focuses on planning, executing, and monitoring production operations to meet quality, cost, and delivery targets.

You will lead a team, drive safety and quality adherence, and optimize production processes. Key responsibilities include lean initiatives, OEE monitoring, and coordination with Supply Chain, Quality, and Maintenance teams.

Qualifications

• B. Tech Mechanical or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering required.
• 5-6 years experience in automotive manufacturing preferred.
• Experience in SAP exposure and lean manufacturing preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plan daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules based on customer demand and production capacity.
• Implement lean manufacturing, Kaizen, and other productivity improvement initiatives.
• Ensure products meet quality standards per OEM requirements and coordinate with Quality team.
• Ensure workplace safety by enforcing safety protocols and PPE usage and comply with standards.
• Maintain daily production reports and analyse deviations from plan; report KPIs such as productivity, downtime, scrap rates, delivery performance.
• Lead and mentor production operators and conduct skill-gap analyses with training programs.

Senior India Private Limited is a 100% subsidiary of Senior Plc UK. Senior India was established in 1993 under the name of Inalsa Flexonics that was taken over by the Senior Group in 1998. Currently operating from two sites which are in Manesar.

Senior India is a leading manufacturer of Automotive Flexible Exhaust Connectors (Bellow and Interlock types), SS Bellows. Senior India has also introduced engine products viz. EGR coolers, Fuel rails, EGR tubes, Turbo Oil Drains, Turbo Oil Feeds etc.

Engineer – Production is responsible for planning, executing, and monitoring production operations to meet quality, cost, and delivery targets in an automobile manufacturing setup. This role involves leading a team, ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards, optimizing production processes, and driving continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

1. Production Planning & Execution

• Plan daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules based on customer demand and production capacity.
• Ensure smooth execution of production plans while maintaining optimal resource utilization.
• Coordinate with supply chain, quality, and maintenance teams to prevent delays.

2. Process & Productivity Improvement

• Implement lean manufacturing, Kaizen, and other productivity improvement initiatives.
• Analyse production bottlenecks and implement corrective actions.
• Monitor OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness) and take measures to improve it.

3. Quality Assurance

• Ensure products to meet quality standards as per OEM requirements.
• Coordinate with the Quality team to address defects and reduce rejection rates.
• Implement mistake-proofing (Poka-Yoke) solutions in the assembly/manufacturing process.
• Lead and mentor production operators.
• Conduct skill-gap analysis and arrange training programs.
• Ensure discipline and adherence to standard operating procedures (SOPs).

5. Safety & Compliance

• Ensure workplace safety by enforcing safety protocols and PPE usage.
• Comply with IATF 16949, and other relevant standards.
• Participate in audits and ensure statutory compliance.

6. Reporting & Documentation

• Maintain daily production reports and Analyse deviations from plan.
• Report KPIs such as productivity, downtime, scrap rates, and delivery performance.
• Support management in preparing weekly and monthly performance reviews.

7. Technical Skills:

• Knowledge of automotive manufacturing processes and equipment.
• Proficiency in lean manufacturing, TPM, and 5S.
• Exposure to SAP systems.
