Job summary

Expleo in Chennai is seeking an experienced Power BI Developer with 4-7+ years of hands-on experience to design, build, deploy, and optimize BI solutions. The role focuses on creating dashboards, semantic models, and data pipelines using DAX and Power Query across diverse data sources.

You will work with SQL, MySQL, Oracle and Power BI Service to deliver mobile-friendly, interactive reports. Strong communication with stakeholders and performance tuning are expected.

Overview

We are looking for an experienced Power BI Developer with 4–7+ years of experience to design, develop, deploy, and optimize interactive business intelligence solutions. The role involves building Power BI dashboards, reports, semantic data models, and data transformation pipelines, with strong expertise in DAX, Power Query (M), SQL, MySQL, Oracle, and Power BI Service.

Essential skills

• 4 to 7+ years of experience as a Power BI Developer
• Design, develop, and deploy interactive Power BI dashboards and reports using Power BI Desktop.
• Experience in creating and optimizing mobile-friendly report layouts.
• Experience in working with MySQL and Oracle databases.
• Design and develop semantic data models using Power BI Desktop.
• Ability to create interactive reports using slicers, filters, drill-down & drill-through.
• Experience with bookmarks, buttons, and tooltips.
• Deploy reports to Power BI Service and manage workspaces.
• Build data models, perform data cleaning, and create calculated columns/measures using DAX.
• Implement the appropriate Power BI data connectivity mode (Import, Direct Query, or Live Connection) based on system performance considerations, data volume, and organizational requirements.
• Connect to data sources (SQL Server, Excel, SharePoint, APIs, etc.), transform data using Power Query (M Language).
• Optimize data refresh schedules and query performance.
• Implement and manage row-level security (RLS) on data.
• Document report requirements, data logic, and user guides.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather requirements and understand business processes.
• Support embedding the power BI reports into web application.
• Experience with performance tuning (both Power BI and database level).
• Solid understanding of data modeling concepts (Star Schema).
