Job summary

Desirous Global Consulting in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, requires an experienced Industrial Automation engineer with 5-6 years of hands-on Siemens PLC programming using TIA Portal (V15+). You will handle on-site commissioning, mentor 24 junior engineers, and coordinate with MES/IIoT teams for end-to-end integration.

The role demands strong FAT/SAT documentation skills, proficiency in Profibus/Profinet/Modbus, and a proven track record across pharma, food & beverage, or automotive sectors.

Qualifications

• ,56 years of hands-on Siemens PLC programming using TIA Portal (V15 and above). Allen Bradley or Schneider experience alone is not sufficient.
• Demonstrated commissioning experience in pharma, food & beverage, Automobile or other sector
• Ability to critically read, audit, and take over existing PLC code and SCADA configurations written by others not only write from scratch.
• Familiarity with FAT/SAT protocols and documentation practices
• Understanding of industrial network protocols: Profibus, Profinet, OPC-UA, Modbus.

Responsibilities

• Conduct pre-commissioning reviews of existing PLC logic, SCADA screens, report formats, and validation documentation before upgrades or migrations begin.
• Developing and commissioning Siemens PLC programs using TIA Portal across S7-1200 and S7-1500 platforms, with full FAT/SAT documentation.
• Managing SCADA projects ensuring zero unplanned functional gaps at customer sign-off.
• Owning the continuity of report formats and serving as the primary on-site technical interface with the customer during commissioning, presenting findings, resolving issues, and maintaining Keystone's qualified reputation under pressure.
• Mentoring and supervising 24 junior automation engineers: conducting code reviews, enforcing engineering standards, and developing team capability.
• Preparing and maintaining technical documentation: FDS, DDS, I/O lists, change logs, and validation protocols.
• Coordinating with internal MES, IIoT, and project management teams for end-to-end integration across project scope.
