Job summary

Bloom Energy in Navi Mumbai, India, seeks an experienced Lead Piping Engineer to drive plant layout development, piping routing, and material specifications across multiple project phases. You will review GA drawings, isometrics, and stress analyses while guiding external consultants and EPC partners through Pre-FEED, FEED, and detailed engineering.

Ideal candidates hold a Mechanical Engineering degree with 15+ years in piping layout and materials, plus expertise in ASME/API standards, 3D plant

Qualifications

• Must have degree in mechanical engineering (Bachelors or Masters).
• 15+ years of piping layout and material engineering experience in power/oil & gas/LNG/petrochemical/industrial gas or related sectors.
• Experience managing engineering consultants and EPC contractors.

Responsibilities

• Lead development and review of plant layouts, piping routing, and balance-of-plant systems.
• Define piping material specs, pipe classes, valve specs, and material selection strategies.
• Review and approve engineering deliverables including plot plans, GA drawings, 3D models, isometrics, and stress reports.
• Manage and direct external consultants and EPC partners during Pre-FEED, FEED, and Detailed Engineering phases.
• Ensure compliance with industry codes, standards, and safety requirements.
• Collaborate with process, mechanical, civil, electrical, and installation teams to optimize systems.
• Support technology development and deployment for utility, gas, water, thermal, and process piping systems.

Role & responsibilities

• Define piping material specifications, pipe classes, valve specifications, and material selection strategies.
• Review and approve engineering deliverables including plot plans, GA drawings, 3D models, isometrics, and stress analysis reports.
• Manage and provide technical direction to external engineering consultants and EPC partners during Pre-FEED, FEED, and Detailed Engineering phases.
• Ensure compliance with applicable industry codes, standards, and safety requirements.
• Collaborate with process, mechanical, civil, electrical, and installation teams to optimize system performance, constructability, and maintainability.
• Support technology development and deployment for utility, gas, water, thermal, and process piping systems.

Preferred candidate profile

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering.

• 15+ years of experience in piping layout and material engineering within power, oil & gas, LNG, petrochemical, industrial gas, or related industries.
• Strong expertise in plant layout, piping specifications, material selection, and engineering design reviews.
• Experience managing engineering consultants and EPC contractors.
• Working knowledge of ASME/API standards and piping stress considerations.
• Familiarity with SP3D, E3D, PDMS, Navisworks, or similar plant design tools.
• Proven experience in FEED, detailed engineering, and project execution.
