Job summary

Global Payments Inc. is seeking a senior firewall specialist to provide Level 3 technical support for enterprise Check Point environments, impacting critical outages and security architecture.

You will design, implement, optimize, and maintain Check Point Firewall deployments, including VSX, ClusterXL, VPNs, and threat prevention, while collaborating across teams to ensure secure, scalable solutions.

Responsibilities

• Provide Level 3 technical support for enterprise firewall environments and act as the highest escalation point for complex incidents and critical outages.
• Design, implement, maintain, and optimize Check Point Firewall environments including Security Gateways, Management Servers, VSX, ClusterXL, VPNs, NAT, IPS, Identity Awareness, Application Control, URL Filtering, and Threat Prevention.
• Perform advanced troubleshooting of network security issues involving routing, switching, firewall policies, VPN connectivity, SSL inspection, and application traffic.
• Lead firewall policy reviews, rule optimization, cleanup activities, and compliance initiatives while ensuring adherence to security standards.
• Collaborate with Network, Cloud, Infrastructure, Security Operations, and Application teams to deliver secure solutions for new business initiatives.
• Plan and execute firewall upgrades, migrations, OS updates, and hardware refresh activities with minimal business impact.
• Participate in security architecture reviews and recommend improvements based on industry best practices.
• Investigate security incidents and provide root cause analysis with preventive recommendations.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation, SOPs, implementation guides, and knowledge articles.
• Participate in an on-call rotation and provide support during planned maintenance and critical production incidents.
