Job summary

Global Payments is hiring for a Level 3 Firewall Engineer to provide expert support and drive secure network solutions. You will design, implement, and optimize Check Point environments, perform advanced troubleshooting, and lead policy reviews across enterprise networks.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure security alignment, plan upgrades, and contribute to architecture reviews while maintaining high availability.

Responsibilities

• Provide Level 3 technical support for enterprise firewall environments, acting as the highest escalation point for complex incidents and critical outages.
• Design, implement, maintain, and optimize Check Point Firewall environments, including Security Gateways, Management Servers, VSX, ClusterXL, VPNs, NAT, IPS, Identity Awareness, Application Control, URL Filtering, and Threat Prevention.
• Perform advanced troubleshooting of network security issues involving routing, switching, firewall policies, VPN connectivity, SSL inspection, and application traffic.
• Lead firewall policy reviews, rule optimization, cleanup activities, and compliance initiatives while ensuring adherence to security standards.
• Collaborate with Network, Cloud, Infrastructure, Security Operations, and Application teams to deliver secure solutions for new business initiatives.
• Plan and execute firewall upgrades, migrations, operating system updates, and hardware refresh activities with minimal business impact.
• Participate in security architecture reviews and recommend improvements based on industry best practices.
• Investigate security incidents and provide root cause analysis along with preventive recommendations.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation, standard operating procedures, implementation guides, and knowledge articles.
• Participate in an on‑call rotation and provide support during planned maintenance and critical production incidents.
