Job Description Engineering Manager / MEP Manager

Position: Engineering Manager / MEP Manager
Experience: 7 years

Key Responsibilities

MEP Operations & Technical Management

• Oversee the operation, maintenance, and performance of MEP systems across residential and commercial projects.
• Review and execute MEP activities in accordance with BOQ, tender specifications, approved designs, and project requirements.
• Monitor system performance and ensure compliance with applicable building codes, standards, safety, and quality requirements.
• Conduct technical evaluations and identify opportunities for improving system efficiency and reliability.
• Provide technical training and guidance to MEP staff on critical engineering activities and maintenance procedures.

Coordination & Planning

• Coordinate with Project and Design teams for upcoming buildings, commercial projects, and cinemas, ensuring smooth transition from project execution to operations.
• Prepare and review MEP handover documentation and reports.
• Ensure proper handover of all MEP systems from the Project team to the Engineering/Facilities team.
• Coordinate with third-party commissioning agencies and service contractors for testing, commissioning, interfacing, and integration of various MEP services.
• Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure timely completion of technical activities.

Audit & System Improvement

• Conduct internal technical audits to evaluate MEP system performance, maintenance standards, and staff competency.
• Coordinate with external technical auditors and implement recommendations for improving systems and operational efficiency.
• Monitor compliance with established engineering procedures, quality standards, and safety requirements.

Team & Manpower Management

• Plan manpower requirements and effectively allocate engineering and facility management activities.
• Lead, supervise, and guide the engineering team to ensure efficient execution of maintenance and technical operations.
• Train team members on critical and specialized engineering activities.
• Manage skilled technicians, engineers, contractors, and trade personnel while maintaining discipline and productivity.

Required Skills

• Strong knowledge of MEP systems, building services, and facility engineering.
• Good understanding of CAD drawings, BOQ, tenders, project handover, and commissioning.
• Strong system analysis, evaluation, troubleshooting, and quality control skills.
• Knowledge of building codes, standards, and technical compliance.
• Excellent communication, coordination, teamwork, and people-management skills.
• Strong administrative and organizational capabilities.
• Experience in supervising highly skilled technical teams and specialized trade personnel.
• Good computer and documentation skills.

Educational Qualification

Degree/Diploma in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering from a recognized institution.

Experience Requirements

• 7+ years of overall experience in the real estate / facility management industry.
• Mandatory experience managing both residential and commercial projects.
• Experience in MEP operations, project coordination, commissioning, handover, technical audits, manpower planning, and team management is preferred.
