MEP Design Manager

We are seeking an experienced MEP Design Manager to lead and manage the complete Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) design function for high-quality residential, commercial, and mixed-use construction projects. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring design excellence, statutory compliance, cost optimization, and seamless coordination with internal teams and external consultants from concept to execution.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the end-to-end MEP design management for multiple construction projects.
• Review, validate, and approve MEP design drawings, calculations, layouts, and specifications.
• Coordinate with architects, structural consultants, PMC, contractors, and MEP consultants to ensure design integration.
• Ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and statutory requirements (NBC, local authority norms, fire regulations, energy codes, etc.).
• Drive value engineering initiatives to optimize cost, efficiency, sustainability, and constructability.
• Monitor design timelines, deliverables, and quality benchmarks.
• Resolve design-related issues during construction and provide timely technical support to site teams.
• Review and finalize BOQs, technical specifications, and tender documents for MEP packages.
• Participate in consultant selection, technical negotiations, and design review meetings.
• Support commissioning, testing, and handover processes from a design perspective.
• Maintain design documentation, approvals, and revision controls.

Experience & Skills

• 8–10 years of proven experience in MEP design management within the construction or real estate industry.
• Strong exposure to residential, commercial, and high-rise building projects.
• In-depth knowledge of HVAC, electrical systems, plumbing, fire-fighting, ELV, and utilities design.
• Excellent understanding of local building codes, statutory approvals, and authority requirements.
• Proficiency in design and coordination tools such as AutoCAD, Revit (MEP), and MS Office.
• Strong leadership, coordination, and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and work under strict timelines.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical / Electrical Engineering or relevant engineering discipline.
• Post-graduate qualification will be an added advantage.
