Job summary

Talent Corner Hr Services seeks an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to drive new product development for consumer electronics, IoT, and electromechanical products. You will design, analyze, and validate components from concept through prototyping to production, using SolidWorks and Creo with GD&T and detailed drawings.

The role requires hands-on experience with DFM/DFA, manufacturing processes, and interdisciplinary collaboration with electronics, firmware, procurement, and Quality teams.

Qualifications

• Proficient in SolidWorks and Creo for 3D modeling, assemblies, and drawings.
• Solid understanding of GD&T, datum structures, tolerance stack-up and mechanical design fundamentals.
• Hands-on experience with DFM/DFA and manufacturing processes like molding, casting, machining, sheet metal, and welding.

Responsibilities

• Lead NPD mechanical design from concept to prototyping and production launch.
• Create 3D models, assemblies, drawings, and specifications with proper GD&T.
• Perform design trade-offs focusing on performance, cost, manufacturability, and reliability.
• Collaborate with suppliers on injection molding, die casting, machining, and assembly processes.
• Conduct or support FEA/CAE, structural and durability analyses, and validation testing.
• Participate in DFMEA, risk assessments, and ensure compliance with IEC/UL/ASTM standards.
• Communicate technical decisions and risks clearly to project leaders and clients.

will be responsible for developing mechanical solutions for new products from concept through production, including architecture, 3D CAD design, detailed engineering, tolerance analysis, prototyping, validation, supplier interaction, and manufacturing support. candidate should have strong hands-on experience in consumer electronics, IoT, electronic products, electromechanical assemblies, or similar products, along with a solid understanding of materials, manufacturing processes, DFM/DFA, GD&T, and product validation.

Role & responsibilities

New Product Development: Lead mechanical design activities from concept development through prototyping, validation, tooling, and production launch for consumer electronics, IoT, and electromechanical products. Mechanical Design & CAD: Develop 3D models, assemblies, detailed drawings, mechanical architectures, and engineering specifications using SolidWorks/Creo, with proper GD&T, datum structures, and tolerance stack-up analysis. Design Optimization: Evaluate design alternatives and make data-driven trade-offs considering performance, cost, complexity, manufacturability, reliability, and schedule. DFM/DFA & Manufacturing: Develop production-ready designs using DFM/DFA principles and collaborate with suppliers on injection molding, die casting, machining, sheet metal, tooling, assembly, and other manufacturing processes. Engineering Analysis & Validation: Perform/support FEA, structural and durability analysis, engineering calculations, prototype evaluation, and mechanical validation testing to ensure robust product performance. Reliability, Risk & Compliance: Participate in DFMEA, risk assessments, design reviews, reliability evaluations, and ensure designs meet applicable IEC, UL, ASTM, and customer requirements. Cross-Functional & Supplier Collaboration: Work closely with Industrial Design, Electronics, Firmware, Procurement, Quality, suppliers, and clients to resolve technical issues and deliver design solutions. Technical Documentation & Communication: Prepare engineering drawings, specifications, analysis reports, test documentation, and clearly communicate technical decisions, risks, and recommendations to project leaders and clients. Technical Skills & Requirements Strong proficiency in SolidWorks and Creo for 3D modeling, assemblies, and detailed drawings. Strong knowledge of GD&T, datum structures, tolerance stack-up, and mechanical design fundamentals. Hands-on experience with DFM/DFA and manufacturing processes including injection molding, die casting, CNC machining, sheet metal, and welding. Good understanding of engineering materials including plastics, aluminum, steel, composites, foams, and elastomers. Working knowledge of FEA/CAE, engineering calculations, reliability, durability, and validation testing. Familiarity with IEC, UL, ASTM, and other applicable product standards. Experience in consumer electronics, IoT, telecom, or electromechanical product development. Strong understanding of the complete NPD lifecycle, from concept through production.
