Job summary

IPE Global is expanding its Sustainable Tourism team and is hiring a Senior Manager (Planning & Design) to lead and support donor-funded tourism development engagements across India.

You will manage end-to-end projects, guide strategy and master planning, oversee DPRs and layout designs, build government relationships, and contribute to business development for the tourism practice.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering tourism strategy, planning and advisory projects for government clients.
• Strong ability to manage complex assignments and lead multidisciplinary teams.
• Willingness to travel extensively and stay at project locations as needed.
• Experience with MoT, State Tourism Departments, and central schemes is a plus.

Responsibilities

Overview:

IPE Global is expanding its Sustainable Tourism team and is looking to hire experienced professionals for the position of Senior Manager (Planning & Design) to lead and support high-impact donor-funded tourism development engagements across India.

Broad Scope of Work:

• Lead and manage ongoing and upcoming tourism sector assignments, including projects funded by the Ministry of Tourism, State Governments, multilateral agencies, and international donors.
• Provide strategic guidance and technical inputs beyond defined project boundaries to help navigate challenges and maximize project outcomes. These would pertain to tourism sector assessments, strategy preparations, master planning, projectisation, DPR, Layout Designs, etc.
• Manage projects end-to-end, including client relationships, project delivery, budgets, timelines, and team performance.
• Lead multidisciplinary teams and ensure high-quality, timely delivery of project outputs.
• Develop technically robust presentations, reports, strategies, feasibility studies, and planning documents.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with government agencies, clients, partners, and other stakeholders.
• Manage complex assignments and respond effectively to challenging or crisis situations.
• Contribute to business development, proposal preparation, client acquisition, and growth of the tourism practice.
• Represent the organization in meetings, workshops, conferences, and stakeholder consultations.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Planning or Architecture, with a Master's degree in Planning, Architecture, Urban Design, or MBA (Finance).
• 812 years of relevant professional experience.
• Strong understanding of the tourism sector, institutional frameworks, and tourism policies.
• Experience working with State Tourism Departments, the Ministry of Tourism (MoT), and Central Government schemes.
• Proven track record of delivering tourism strategy, planning, and advisory projects for Government clients.
• Expertise in tourism strategy formulation, project conceptualization, feasibility assessments, master planning, Project layout design and DPR, and project implementation.
• Strong project management, client management, and team leadership capabilities.
• Demonstrated ability to manage complex assignments, handle challenging situations, and drive project success.
• Experience in business development, proposal preparation, and client acquisition will be an advantage.
• Willingness to travel extensively and spend extended periods at project locations, as required.
