Job summary

Tesco Bengaluru Private Limited is seeking a seasoned payroll leader to direct all payroll activities, ensuring accurate and timely colleague payments while coordinating with the UK payroll team. You will build a high-performing team, set and monitor SLAs, and oversee audits and staffing within a hybrid model.

The role demands strong attention to detail, process mapping, and stakeholder management, with experience in a UK payroll environment preferred.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of work experience in a transactional payroll/HR environment.
• Background in tools and techniques, people policies and processes; UK payroll exposure desirable.
• Experience with KPIs and SLAs, problem solving and process coaching is valued.
• Strong operations delivery, analysis, judgement, and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the payroll team, providing opportunities to perform at their best.
• Deliver on business SLAs for payroll and ensure on-time, accurate payments.
• Oversee audits internal and external related to payroll and ensure compliance.
• Manage staffing/headcount in the payroll function and succession planning.
• Improve efficiency of people-related activities (hiring, performance reviews, rewards).
• Collaborate with UK payroll teams and senior personnel managers as needed.

Job description

To Lead, Direct and Control all Payroll teams and associated processes with the objective of paying our colleagues accurately and on time. The position requires working closely with Senior Personnel Managers in UK.

• Developing and leading an impactful team, giving them the opportunities to be their best
• Delivering on agreed Business SLA’s for the payroll team consistently
• Communicating performance of the team to relevant partners and payroll teams
• Providing leadership over direct reports and lead all aspects of staffing or headcount n the payroll function
• Overseeing internal and external audits related to the payroll function
• Effective succession planning
• Reviewing and Controlling the overall efficiency of all people related activities in the department like Hiring, Performance Appraisal’s, Talent Management, Rewards and Recognition and Salary increments
• Utilization of Human Resources and infrastructure as per budgeted numbers in an efficient manner
• Utilization and allocation of staff welfare budgets
• Delivering efficiency increase year on year as per the set strategic objectives
• Strengthening relationship with relevant payroll contacts through regular connects

• 10 plus years of work experience in a transactional
• Eye-to-Detail,Planning & Organising, Process Mapping service based environment preferred. Background of Tools and Techniques, People Policies and Processes, working in a UK Payroll environment is desirable
