Job summary

Kelkar Auto Parts, Maharashtra, seeks an experienced maintenance professional to plan and execute preventive maintenance across six plants. You will maintain digital asset records, respond to breakdowns swiftly, and implement permanent fixes while coordinating with OEMs and external vendors.

The role requires leadership of a 4-person team and strong safety practices. The ideal candidate will have a Diploma or Bachelor's in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, 5–8 years of hands-on manufacturing

• Experience with digital maintenance records or CMMS.
• Familiarity with PM scheduling, spare parts and breakdown history.

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute preventive maintenance schedules for assets across six plants.
• Keep digital records for asset registers, PM schedules, breakdown history and service reports.
• Respond to breakdowns quickly and get machines running again.
• Find root causes of repeat breakdowns and implement permanent fixes.
• Plan and maintain critical spare parts inventory to reduce downtime.
• Maintain lasers, press brakes, welding equipment, robots, coatings, compressors and utilities.
• Coordinate with OEM service engineers and external maintenance vendors; manage AMCs.
• Ensure safe maintenance practices (lockout/tagout, electrical safety, statutory checks).
• Track and report KPIs: uptime, MTBF, MTTR and PM compliance.
• Work with Production to schedule maintenance with minimal output impact.
• Support energy saving and TPM initiatives.
• Lead a team of 4 maintenance technicians across 6 plants.

Role & responsibilities

• Plan and execute preventive maintenance (PM) schedules for all assets across the 6 plants, and ensure PM is completed on time.
• Keep digital records for every asset, including asset register, PM schedules, breakdown history, spare parts and service reports.
• Respond to breakdowns quickly and get machines running again as soon as possible.
• Find the root cause of repeat breakdowns and put permanent fixes in place.
• Plan and maintain critical spare parts inventory to reduce downtime.
• Maintain lasers, press brakes, welding equipment and robots, powder coating plants, compressors and utilities.
• Coordinate with OEM service engineers and external maintenance vendors, and manage AMCs.
• Ensure safe maintenance practices, such as lockout/tagout, electrical safety and statutory checks (lifting equipment, pressure vessels, etc.).
• Track and report maintenance KPIs, such as machine uptime, MTBF, MTTR and PM compliance.
• Work with Production to schedule maintenance with minimum impact on output.
• Support energy saving and TPM initiatives.
• Lead, guide and develop a team of 4 maintenance technicians, and assign daily work across the 6 plants.

Preferred candidate profile

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
• 5 to 8 years of hands‑on maintenance experience in manufacturing, preferably sheet metal fabrication or engineering.
• Good knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems. PLC/CNC troubleshooting is a plus.
• Experience with digital maintenance records or maintenance software.
• Good communication in Marathi, Hindi and English.
• Willing to move between plants and support urgent breakdowns outside normal hours when required.
