Job summary

Motherson is seeking an experienced engineering professional to define process routes, balance lines and set takt times across part families. You will determine where each process step and inspection gate sits, review layouts, and lead the optimization of end-to-end manufacturing flow.

You will drive NPI industrialisation from drawing to mass production, optimize DFM with customers, implement EVT/DVT/PVT-type builds, and validate processes with IQ/OQ/PQ while planning ramp-up to scale.

Responsibilities

• Process route definition for each part family sequence of operations, line balancing and takt time.
• Define where each process step and inspection gate sits.
• Lead NPI industrialisation from drawing to mass production with DFM, EVT/DVT/PVT builds, IQ/OQ/PQ validation and ramp-up plan.
• Own rolled-throughput yield across all steps and tackle cross-process defects with process owners.
• Set common PFMEA, control plans, process specs and work instructions; manage engineering change processes and lessons-learned.
• Drive fixtures, automation and robotic loading/unloading; establish MES/traceability and capture key process parameters for every lot.
• Act as technical lead in customer engineering reviews; build and lead a small industrial/process engineering team for line-level work.

Job description

Role & responsibilities

• 1) Process architecture: Define the process route for each part family sequence of operations, , line balancing, takt time; decide where each process step and inspection gate sits.
• 2) Plant layout & Utility: Review equipment specifications and supplier evaluations; co-plan layout and utilities
• 3) NPI industrialisation: Lead each new part from drawing to mass production – DFM with the customer, build-stage plans (EVT/DVT/PVT-type builds), process validation (IQ/OQ/PQ) and ramp-up plan to volume.
• 4) End-to-end yield: Own rolled-throughput yield across all steps; tackle cross-process defect jointly with the process owners.
• 5) Engineering standards & change control: Set common standards for PFMEA, Control Plans, process specifications and work instructions; run the engineering change process and maintain a lessons-learned database.
• 6) Automation & data: Drive fixtures, automation and robotic loading/unloading; set up MES / traceability and capture of key process parameters for every lot.
• 7) Customer & technology partners: Act as technical lead in customer engineering reviews; build and lead a small industrial/process engineering team for line-level work.
