Job summary

Larsen & Toubro in Tamil Nadu seeks a seasoned manufacturing professional to own process stability across SMT, THT and final assembly, ensuring robust throughput, tight process control, and predictable line performance in a high-mix EMS environment. You will mentor teams and champion standard work and daily management routines.

You will lead sustaining engineering, drive OEE, FPY improvements, and optimize cycle times, line balancing, and changeovers while safeguarding quality.

Responsibilities

• Manufacturing Process Ownership – Own and ensure process stability and performance across SMT, THT and Box Build/Final Assembly lines.
• Production Technical Support – Provide timely technical support to Production for process, equipment, quality and productivity-related issues.
• Process Optimization – Drive continuous improvement in OEE, FPY, cycle time, line balancing, changeover and overall productivity.
• Equipment & Automation – Ensure equipment capability, reliability and performance; drive automation, poka-yoke and equipment improvement projects.
• Quality & Defect Reduction – Lead RCCA, 8D, PFMEA and process improvements to eliminate recurring defects, rework and scrap.
• NPI to Mass Production Handover – Ensure robust transfer of products from NPI/Engineering to Sustaining/Mass Production, including process parameters, programs, fixtures and documentation.
• Engineering Change Management – Control and implement ECN/ECR, BOM, process, machine program and product changes without impacting production continuity.
• MES & Manufacturing Digitalization – Drive MES/SAP integration, traceability, process data collection and digital manufacturing improvements.
• Team & Cross-Functional Leadership – Lead Sustaining Engineering teams and coordinate with Production, Quality, Maintenance, NPI, SCM and Test for manufacturing performance.
• Manufacturing Excellence & Cost Reduction – Drive Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen, standardization, manpower optimization and cost-reduction initiatives to achieve scalable EMS manufacturing.
