Job summary

Sun Pharma is seeking a Sr. Manager - Costing at Sun House, Mumbai. You will lead product costing, COGS validation, budgeting, and cost audits, partnering with R&D, supply chain, and business teams to drive cost optimization.

The role requires CMA qualification with 8+ years of experience, strong analytical skills, and the ability to manage budgeting in Anaplan and regulatory reporting. This on-site position offers growth in a global finance function.

Responsibilities

• Product Costing & Analysis; API costing, variance analysis
• Compute and validate COGS and communicate insights to stakeholders
• R&D product costing and transfer pricing updates
• PUP rate analysis on a monthly basis for ML runs
• Track solvent and metal recovery; valuation and monitoring
• Life Cycle Management costing; coordinate with R&D and plant teams
• Budgeting & Financial Planning; manage budget in Anaplan
• Prepare budget cost sheets and overhead planning; variance analysis
• Regulatory & Compliance reporting; CAS-4 / PLI activities; RoDTEP returns
• NPPA-related activities: respond to queries and submit data
• Inventory Management & Valuation; monthly/quarterly categorization
• Evaluate inventory across Plant, C&F, and in-transit stock; provisions for damaged/non-moving stock
• Cost Audit & Financial Reporting; prepare cost sheets, annexures; support audits
• Automation & Process Improvement (RPA); BRDs for automation; explore digital transformation

Key Responsibilities

• Product Costing & Analysis
• Perform API actual costing, including detailed trend and variance analysis.
• Compute and validate COGS (Cost of Goods Sold) and communicate insights to stakeholders such as Business Development and Marketing teams.
• Handle R&D product costing and periodically update transfer pricing.
• Conduct PUP rate analysis on a monthly basis for ML runs.
• Track solvent and metal recovery, including valuation and performance monitoring.
• Drive Life Cycle Management (LCM) costing, coordinating with R&D and plant teams.
• Budgeting & Financial Planning
• Manage budget preparation in Anaplan tool.
• Prepare budget cost sheets, including detailed overhead planning.
• Perform variance analysis and provide actionable insights for cost optimization.
• Regulatory & Compliance Reporting
• Handle CAS-4 / PLI working, including submission of raw material cost break-ups (local vs. imported) as per government regulations on a quarterly basis.
• Prepare and submit RoDTEP annual returns in compliance with prescribed requirements.
• Manage NPPA-related activities, including responding to queries and submitting production, cost, sales, and quantitative data.
• Inventory Management & Valuation
• Perform monthly and quarterly inventory categorization and valuation.
• Evaluate inventory across Plant, C&F locations, and In-transit stock.
• Calculate provisions for damaged, expired, near-expiry, and non-moving inventory as per company policy.
• Update and report global inventory data, ensuring alignment with corporate operations.
• Cost Audit & Financial Reporting
• Support cost audit activities, including:
• Quantity reconciliation
• Consumption analysis
• Expense allocation
• Prepare cost sheets and profit reconciliation statements.
• Compile annexures and schedules for cost audit compliance.
• Automation & Process Improvement (RPA)
• Work with consultants on RPA (Robotic Process Automation) initiatives across systems such as Anaplan, Power BI, and SAP BW.
• Draft and document Business Requirement Documents (BRDs) for automation projects.
• Identify opportunities for process optimization and digital transformation.
