Job summary

Tata Projects Limited is seeking a senior Civil/Structural Project Lead to oversee FEED, EPC, and proposal activities. You will manage a multidisciplinary team of engineers, designers, and modelers across large-scale projects, ensuring delivery of civil and structural deliverables and accurate BOQs in line with project standards and client policies.

• Engineering Degree or PG in Civil discipline is required.
• Experience with STAAD Pro, Mat 3D, RCDC, STAAD Foundation Advanced and connection design software.
• Experience with Navisworks for reviews is preferred.
• Proficient in MS Office and project documentation.
• Aware of IS and BS codes and standards related to civil/structural design.

Responsibilities

• Lead FEED/EPC/Proposal work for Civil/Structural deliverables and BOQ alignment with standards.
• Manage a team of Structural/UG engineers, designers, and 3D modelers across multiple units.
• Prepare or review civil and structural specs, standards, and design documentation.
• Coordinate with external consultants and vendors for design reviews and reports.
• Oversee RFQ/Geotechnical/topographic surveys and associated reports.
• Review analyses and designs using STAADPro, RAM Connection, and related tools.
• Prepare and review technical documentation for civil subcontracts.

Job description

Role & responsibilities

1) Fully Responsible for entire FEED/EPC/Proposal work not limited to Civil & Structural Deliverables and

BOQ including Architectural details and BOQ, Budget Control, Planning of C&S Deliverables conforming

to all applicable engineering codes and standards as well as the Clients policies and procedures.

2) Lead a team of Structural and UG Engineers, Designers and 3D Modelers for a medium size

project/ multiple Units in a large-size Project.

3) Prepare &/or Review the Civil & Structural specifications, Project Standard as per Contract requirements,

Standard design requirements, Design Engineering and TPL Standard.

4) Review of Documents and drawings submitted by External Structural design Consultant / fabricators,

Geotech Consultant as per Design basis report / Contract / Project requirements/Company Std as

assigned.

5) Prepare/Review RFQ & report for Geotechnical investigation, Topographic Survey, Underground Scan

& Hardstand.

6) Review the Analysis & Design with STAADPro, Mat 3D, STAAD Foundation Advanced, RCDC,

Connection Design Softwares such as RAM Connection, Idea Statica of all structures including

buildings (SS,SRR,Control) with Blast resistance, shelters, equipment (Vessel, Exchangers, Process

column, reactor, Drums, tank), Pipe-racks, equipment skids, Dynamic foundation (Static/Rotating) ,

Table Top Compressor Foundations using FEM would be added advantage, Pits for

(OWS,CRWS,ABD.CBD,Sanitary) , Connection Deign , FEM, site grading / earth works including rough

and final grading plans, Roads, paving, grading layouts and details, Gate and fencing layouts and

details.

7) Prepare/Review Architectural details in Buildings and Shelters.

8) Be willing to prepare Engineering Deliverables including Assumptions, Basis, TQs, MTOs and

BOQs for Projects and Proposals as and when required.

9) Coordination - co-ordinate with other disciplines during all stages of design development, construction,

Pre-Commissioning, and start-up. Further, addressing all the comments raised by client/consultants and

obtaining all necessary approvals in a timely manner.

10) Overall Control, Cursory Review of the Design Engineering Deliverables & BOQ provided by third party

during EPC & Proposal stage by consultant and Identifying opportunities and chasing design

optimizations.

11) Liaise with Designers in the preparation of CAD drawings, civil drawings using, MicroStation, Smart plant

3D, E3D, AutoCAD, E3D, PDS, Tekla etc.

12) Shall prepare & review the technical documentation for civil subcontracts, technical comparison table

of third party (Geotechnical, Structural, Topographical, Underground, Fabricator, vendors) offers.

13) To monitor execution phase Civil BOQ, compare with proposal phase Civil BOQ, analyze deviations and

prepare a register of the quantity’s variations.

14) Proactive and effective communication among the project team.

15) To ensure that all work is completed without compromise to quality and is delivered according to the

project schedule.

16) To provide relevant knowledgeable practical skills in the response and actions for Site visits and site

surveys, Site queries and discussions, Supplier, vendor, contractor, client and site related discussions and

Site based activities.

17) Familiar with latest code IS (456,800,875,1893,13920,3370), BS5950, BS8110, ASCE-07, ACI-318, AISCASD/

LRFD, AWS, API, UBC 97, IBC Code, PIP standards.

18) Strategize and finalize the foundation design (Pile foundation or Open foundation) for the project along

with the study of Geotechnical parameters submitted by the soil investigation team.

19) Knowledge of Modules Analyses for Lifting & Transportation (Land & Sea Transportation) will be

added advantage.

Preferred candidate profile

10-15 years’ experience in performing and managing Civil, Structural and Architectural Activities

• Engineering Degree/PG Degree in Civil Discipline
• Experience with STAAD Pro, Mat 3D, RCDC, STAAD Foundation Advanced and Connection Design software.
• Experience in review tools like Navisworks
• Experience in MS office
• Conversant with relevant codes and standards as mentioned above.
