Job summary

Toshiba Transmission & Distribution Systems in Hyderabad seeks a Civil/Structural Design Engineer to develop designs for GIS and AIS substations, review foundations and associated structures, and ensure compliance with codes and project specs. You will coordinate with teams, support site execution, and prepare BOQ for projects.

The role requires B.Tech in Civil Engineering (M.Tech preferred) and Hands-on experience with design codes, structural analysis, and CAD tools.

Qualifications

• 68 years of relevant experience in civil and structural design.
• Experience in GIS/AIS substation projects preferred.
• Strong knowledge of civil design codes, structural analysis, and foundation design.

Responsibilities

• Prepare civil and structural designs for GIS and AIS substation projects in accordance with applicable codes, standards, and project specifications.
• Design and review various foundation systems, including isolated footings, combined footings, raft foundations, pile foundations, equipment foundations, and transformer foundations.
• Perform structural analysis and design for control buildings, GIS buildings, gantry towers, girders, steel structures, cable trenches, equipment support structures, retaining walls, boundary walls, and transformer and firewall foundations.
• Review design calculations, engineering drawings, material specifications, and technical deliverables.
• Coordinate with engineering teams, clients, vendors, and site construction teams to resolve technical issues.
• Provide technical support during construction and assist in resolving site queries.
• Ensure compliance with quality requirements, design codes, standards, and industrial practices.
• Prepare and review Bills of Quantities (BOQ) for substation projects.
