Job summary

Gemcorp Recycling in Mumbai is seeking a Senior Logistics Manager to oversee end-to-end logistics operations, including shipping, transportation, warehousing, and dispatch planning. You will manage freight negotiations, vendor coordination, and cost optimization across the supply chain.

The role requires deep knowledge of container logistics, import/export processes, and compliance with safety regulations. Lead a high-performing team and drive continuous improvements in costs and efficiency.

Qualifications

• Post Graduate in Commerce, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
• 8–15 years of relevant experience in Logistics, Supply Chain, Shipping, or Transportation.
• Experience in Scrap Trading, Metal, Steel, Bulk Commodity, Shipping, or Manufacturing industries preferred.
• Strong knowledge of freight management, warehouse operations, transportation planning, and logistics documentation.
• Experience in handling import/export logistics and customs coordination.

Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end logistics and transportation operations.
• Plan daily container movement, dispatch, and warehouse coordination.
• Negotiate freight rates with transporters and shipping lines.
• Coordinate with suppliers, transporters, warehouses, ports, and internal stakeholders.
• Monitor loading, unloading, customs clearance, and shipment timelines.
• Control freight costs, detention, demurrage, and other logistics expenses.
• Maintain freight MIS reports and logistics documentation.
• Ensure timely vendor payments and transport bookings.
• Handle logistics issues related to delays, shortages, damages, and documentation.
• Ensure compliance with transportation, shipping, and safety regulations.
• Lead the logistics team and drive operational efficiency and continuous process improvement.
