Job summary

Ground Up Designs in Mumbai is seeking a Senior Interior Designer with 2–3 years of experience. You will take ownership from concept through execution, developing layouts, mood boards, and design narratives while collaborating with clients and site teams.

You will produce working drawings, BIM/3D visuals, coordinate with vendors, attend client meetings, monitor milestones, and help mentor junior designers to ensure quality and timely delivery.

Senior Interior Designer | Experience: 2-3 Years

Who We’re Looking For a passionate, detail-oriented Interior Designer who can take ownership of projects from concept through execution. We’re looking for someone with strong design sensibilities, technical expertise, excellent communication skills, and the ability to collaborate seamlessly with clients, consultants, vendors, and site teams.

Key Responsibilities:

1.Design Support & Concept Development:

• Develop creative concepts aligned with the client’s vision and project brief.
• Prepare space planning, layouts, design presentations, and concept boards.
• Assist in developing material palettes and design narratives.

2.Client Interaction & Support:

• Attend client meetings and presentations.
• Understand client requirements and translate them into design solutions.
• Build strong client relationships through clear communication and regular follow-ups.

3.Project Coordination:

• Coordinate with consultants, vendors, contractors, and internal team members.
• Ensure timely flow of information across all stakeholders.
• Track project milestones and deliverables.

4.Technical Drawings & Documentation:

• Prepare detailed working drawings, GFC drawings, furniture layouts, ceiling plans, electrical layouts, and interior detailing.
• Ensure drawings comply with company standards and site requirements.
• Develop mood boards and presentation decks.
• Coordinate 3D visualisations and render outputs.
• Present design proposals effectively to clients.
• Research and source materials, finishes, lighting, furniture, and accessories.
• Coordinate with vendors for quotations, samples, approvals, and procurement.
• Maintain updated material libraries.

7.Site Visits & Execution Support:

• Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress.
• Resolve design and execution issues on-site.
• Coordinate with contractors to ensure design intent is maintained.

8.Documentation & BOQs:

• Prepare BOQs, specifications, and quantity take-offs.
• Maintain project documentation and drawing revisions.
• Assist in budgeting and procurement documentation.

9.Learning & Skill Development:

• Stay updated with design trends, materials, technologies, and industry best practices.
• Mentor junior designers and support team growth.

10.Organisation & Time Management:

• Manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Maintain organized project folders and documentation.
• Meet deadlines while ensuring high-quality deliverables.
