VARITE INDIA PRIVATE LIMITED in Goa is seeking a Senior HR to manage plant HR, employee relations and labour compliance. You will handle payroll for contract labour, ensure statutory compliance, and support shop-floor HR operations.

The role requires 3+ years of experience, strong communication with unions, and hands-on payroll knowledge. This onsite contract position offers exposure to a British multinational client and comprehensive HRops involvement.

Responsibilities

• Maintain industrial relations with workmen and union representatives and handle grievances.

• Coordinate contractor compliance checks, audits and government inspections.
• Assist with shop-floor HR operations, attendance management and HR MIS reporting.

About The Client: A British multinational alcoholic beverage company with its headquarters in London, England. It operates from 132 sites around the world. It is a major distributor of Scotch whisky and other spirits. Distilleries owned by Client produce 40% of all Scotch whisky with over 24 brands.

About The Job: This role focuses on Plant/Unit HR, Employee Relations and Labour Compliance, with responsibilities covering payroll, contract labour, statutory compliance and shop-floor HR operations.

Industrial & Employee Relations

• Maintain cordial relations with workmen and union representatives.
• Participate in union meetings, grievance handling and shop-floor interactions.
• Resolve employee concerns and support employee engagement initiatives.
• Assist with settlements, notices and disciplinary actions as applicable.

Payroll & Compliance Management

• Support end-to-end payroll processing for workmen and contract workforce.
• Ensure compliance with applicable labour laws and statutory requirements.
• Maintain statutory registers, records and returns.
• Coordinate with contractors for monthly compliance documentation and audits.

Contract Labour & Statutory Compliance

• Monitor contract labour deployment, attendance and statutory documentation.
• Conduct contractor compliance checks and support audits.
• Coordinate during government inspections and support closure of compliance observations.

Administration & HR Operations

• Support canteen, transport, housekeeping, uniforms and statutory notices.
• Support Client planning, time office and attendance management.
• Prepare and maintain HR MIS, dashboards and reports.

Key Skills & Competencies

• Strong understanding of Indian labour laws and factory compliance.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills for dealing with unions and workforce.
• Hands-on experience in payroll processing and compliance activities.
• Detail-oriented, proactive and resilient in handling shop-floor HR challenges.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Proficiency in MS Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
