Job summary

About the Role

This is a hands-on platform role, backed by real technical depth. As our Senior Technical Specialist, you own the day-to-day health, configuration and support of Flexera across our client base. You administer the platform, monitor beacons, resolve tickets, and troubleshoot complex data and inventory issues. You also work across the surrounding ecosystem, including ServiceNow and Atlassian, and perform technical design and integration work on more complex engagements. You'll be a trusted technical point of contact for clients and internal teams alike. You are the person who can diagnose a platform issue, liaise with vendor support, and keep the underlying data trustworthy while contributing technical input on larger integration and design work.

Responsibilities

• Own the health, configuration and support of Flexera across client environments.
• Build and maintain integrations, adapters and reporting that keep client data accurate and trusted.
• Resolve complex platform issues. From ticket-level troubleshooting to root-cause investigation and vendor escalation.
• Contribute technical design input on complex engagements and help lift the team's platform capability.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in enterprise IT, with proven experience as a technical/solution/platform specialist across infrastructure and hybrid / multi-cloud environments (Azure and AWS a plus).
• 2+ years of Flexera Platform experience.
• Advanced Flexera Platform skills, including hands‑on experience administering and configuring Flexera One (or FlexNet Manager Suite), including inventory beacon deployment, configuration, and health monitoring, along with application recognition/normalisation (ARL/PURL) and understanding of license position (ELP) reporting.
• Proven troubleshooting ability across the data pipeline (inventory gaps, beacon connectivity, reconciliation failures, and application recognition issues).
• Experience building custom reports, business adapters, and integrations (e.g. SCCM, Intune, ServiceNow, Active Directory).
• Working proficiency in SQL for querying and reporting against relational data structures, and comfort with PowerShell for automation, data extraction, or troubleshooting tasks.
• Working knowledge of core networking concepts (ports, firewalls, proxies, DNS) sufficient to troubleshoot connectivity issues between inventory agents, beacons, and cloud services.
• Hands‑on experience with Windows Server environments and Active Directory, including group policy, service accounts, domain trust relationships, and authentication troubleshooting.
• A genuinely data‑driven mindset, able to turn raw, complex enterprise data into reliable, automated, decision‑ready outputs.
• Strong solution‑design, documentation and stakeholder communication skills, able to talk tech and business with equal credibility.
• Working understanding of ITIL, ISO/IEC 19770 and FinOps principles.

Required Skills

• ServiceNow SAM Pro / HAM Pro, including CMDB / CSDM, Discovery and Service Graph Connectors.
• ITAM / SAM / FinOps or equivalent technology spend management domain experience.
• Modern build skills: Infrastructure as Code (Terraform or Bicep), CI/CD (Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions), scripting (Python, PowerShell, SQL), APIs (REST, SOAP) and version control (Git).
• Understanding of software licensing and SaaS delivery models.
• Hands‑on data engineering: data adapters and connectors, data pipelines, data modelling, normalisation and integration across multiple sources (e.g. Azure Data Factory / Databricks, SQL, Delta Lake or data‑lake house patterns).
• ServiceNow certifications, Certified System Administrator (CSA) or CIS in SAM, HAM and/or Discovery.
• ITIL, SAM, HAM, ITAM or FinOps Certifications.
• Cloud and vendor certifications (e.g. Azure Solutions Architect Expert, AWS Solutions Architect).
• Containerisation and orchestration (Kubernetes) and BI tooling (Power BI).
• Exposure to AI / ML-assisted data workflows and automation.
• Working knowledge of common inventory and discovery tools that feed Flexera (e.g. SCCM, Microsoft Intune, JAMF, or similar endpoint management platforms), sufficient to understand data provenance and troubleshoot inventory gaps at the source.
• Experience using Power BI for building dashboards and reports from underlying data sources.
