Job summary

TMF Group in Pune is seeking an ITAM Analyst to support the SAM/ITAM functions, manage software assets, licensing, renewals, and vendor relationships across the business.

You will work with Procurement, Finance, Technology, Security, and Vendor Management to optimize software spend, maintain compliance, and drive governance through data-driven insights using Power BI and other tools.

Qualifications

• Understanding of Software Asset Management (SAM) and IT Asset Management (ITAM) principles.
• Knowledge of software licensing concepts, software publishers, maintenance agreements, and renewals.
• Familiarity with asset management tools such as Flexera One, Snow Software, or similar platforms is preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data analysis, reporting, and reconciliation activities.
• Understanding of software inventory, entitlement management, and compliance processes.

Responsibilities

• Maintain software renewal calendars and proactively coordinate renewal activities with stakeholders.
• Assist with software vendor engagement by providing licensing, utilization, and compliance information.
• Support vendor discussions by preparing software entitlement, usage, and commercial data.

Role Overview:

The ITAM Analyst will support the Software Asset Management (SAM) function by managing software asset data, software license compliance, renewals, vendor relationships, and software lifecycle activities. The role is responsible for maintaining accurate software inventory records, supporting licensing governance, assisting with budget planning, and ensuring effective utilization of Software Asset Management tools and processes.

The analyst will collaborate with Procurement, Finance, Technology, Security, and Vendor Management teams to improve software governance, optimize software spend, and maintain compliance with licensing agreements.

Key Responsibilities:

Software Asset & License Management

• Manage and maintain software asset inventory and license entitlement data within the ITAM/SAM tool.
• Monitor software license compliance and support remediation activities for any identified licensing risks.
• Assist in managing the complete software lifecycle, including software requests, procurement, deployment, maintenance, renewals, and retirement.
• Ensure software asset records remain accurate, complete, and up to date.
• Support software contract and renewal management activities across various software publishers.
• Maintain software renewal calendars and proactively coordinate renewal activities with stakeholders.

Reporting & Data Analysis

• Develop and maintain Power Bi dashboard ,software asset management reports, dashboards, and compliance metrics.
• Analyze software usage, license consumption, and software ROI to support optimization initiatives.
• Provide periodic reporting on software assets, licensing position, renewals, compliance status, and financial exposure.
• Support audit readiness through accurate documentation and reporting.

Governance Support

• Support purchase order, invoice, and contract reconciliation activities.
• Contribute to commercial governance processes by providing licensing and asset-related data for sourcing and renewal decisions.
• Ensure compliance with ITAM policies, standards, and governance requirements.

Tool Administration & Process Improvement

• Support administration of the Software Asset Management platform and related ITAM processes.
• Continuously identify opportunities to improve software asset data quality, reporting capabilities, and operational efficiency.
• Participate in process enhancement initiatives related to software lifecycle management and asset governance.
