Job summary

Tube Investments of India Limited (TII) invites an SCM professional to lead sourcing and vendor development across the supply chain.

You will identify and develop suppliers, negotiate terms, monitor performance, and collaborate with Engineering, Quality, Production, and Planning to ensure uninterrupted supply.

This role emphasizes cost optimization, localization, risk mitigation, and building lasting partnerships with strategic suppliers to support manufacturing excellence.

Responsibilities

• Identify, evaluate, and develop potential suppliers based on quality, cost, delivery, capacity, and technical capabilities.
• Drive supplier sourcing and development initiatives to ensure timely availability of materials and components as per business requirements.
• Negotiate commercial terms, pricing, payment terms, lead time, and supply agreements with suppliers to achieve cost and value optimization.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with vendors and strategic suppliers to ensure continuity of supply and long-term partnerships.
• Identify opportunities for cost reduction, localization, alternate sourcing, and supplier consolidation.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, Production, Planning, and other cross-functional teams to understand material specifications and sourcing requirements.
• Conduct supplier evaluations, audits, and performance reviews to ensure compliance with quality, delivery, cost, and process standards.
• Monitor and improve supplier performance, including on-time delivery, quality, responsiveness, and capacity.
• Identify and mitigate supply chain and supplier-related risks, including capacity constraints, material shortages, and market fluctuations.
• Analyze market trends, supplier capabilities, and commodity movements to identify sourcing opportunities and potential risks.
• Support new product development and new supplier onboarding, including RFQ, quotation analysis, supplier selection, and commercial negotiations.
• Manage the RFQ/RFP process, evaluate supplier quotations, and prepare comparative statements for supplier selection.
• Ensure suppliers meet organizational requirements related to quality, compliance, delivery, cost, and sustainability.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams to resolve procurement, sourcing, and supply chain challenges and ensure uninterrupted production.
• Maintain appropriate supplier documentation, sourcing records, commercial data, and vendor performance reports.
