Job summary

Z Ventures is seeking a seasoned Sourcing & Procurement Leader to drive end-to-end CAPEX procurement, vendor management, and global supplier relations. You will lead a small team, define category strategies, and negotiate terms across direct and indirect spend with a focus on cost, quality, and on-time delivery.

The role requires deep cross-functional collaboration with Engineering, Production, and Finance, plus experience in implements like PPAP/APQP and supplier qualification.

Qualifications

• Proven track record in strategic sourcing and vendor management.
• Experience in CAPEX procurement for machinery and equipment.
• Demonstrated ability to drive cost savings through supplier negotiations.
• Experience in leading cross-functional teams across functions such as Engineering, Production, and Finance.
• Knowledge of procurement processes and compliance standards (ISO/IATF a plus).

Job description

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the overall sourcing strategy and vendor management agenda for the plant and the group, aligned with company growth objectives, reporting directly to senior leadership.
• Build, lead, and mentor a small sourcing team; allocate categories, set savings targets, and review performance against cost, quality, and delivery KPIs.
• Own end-to-end CAPEX procurement CNC and conventional machines, special purpose machines (SPM), robots and automation cells, tooling, dies, jigs, fixtures, gauges, DG sets, transformers, compressors, and material handling equipment — through domestic, import, and alternate channels including direct OEM purchase and foreign auctions.
• Drive direct category buying across sheet metal, machined and turned parts, castings, forgings, plastic and rubber moulded components, fasteners, and proprietary electrical and electronic items, together with raw material — steel coil, bar, tube, and non-ferrous.
• Set up new facilities end to end — tool rooms, manufacturing and assembly lines, welding and paint shops, and corporate offices — from requirement definition and vendor finalisation through to installation, trial run, and commissioning.
• Source and finalise commercial office / plant space, managing site evaluation, commercial negotiation, and – agreement closure. Run structured RFP / RFI / RFQ processes for vendor identification, techno-commercial comparison, and supplier selection across all categories, supported by comparative statements and reverse auctions.
• Prepare part-level cost estimates and should-cost build-ups for sheet metal, machining, casting and moulding processes, covering material, process, overhead, and margin, and use them to drive negotiation outcomes.
• Negotiate pricing, payment terms, delivery schedules, warranties, tooling amortisation, and quality & compliance conditions with suppliers across direct and indirect spend.
• Drive alternate sourcing, localisation of imported parts, global sourcing, and import procurement to strengthen supply resilience and unlock cost savings.
• Conduct vendor assessment, development, and periodic performance reviews; onboard and qualify new suppliers, run capacity and capability audits, and expand the vendor base to de-risk single-source parts.
• Support new product introduction with the Projects, Engineering, and Quality teams — sourcing for prototypes, tooling development, and part approval through the PPAP and APQP cycle.
• Monitor procurement spend against budget, apply zero-base costing and should-cost analysis, and identify savings and process improvement opportunities.
• Implement automation and digitisation initiatives to improve procurement efficiency and reduce – manpower cost.
• Prepare and present monthly MIS reports, savings dashboards, and budget forecasts to top management.
• Maintain procurement documentation — purchase orders, contracts, SLAs, AMCs, and supplier correspondence — with full audit traceability, and represent the Purchase & SCM function in ISO, IATF 16949, customer, and internal audits.
• Coordinate with Projects, Production, PPC, Stores, Quality, IT, Admin, and Finance teams for demand planning, material availability, inventory norms, and timely vendor payments.
