Job summary

Sanyo Special Steel Manufacturing India Pvt. Ltd. in Khopoli is looking for an experienced Mechanical supervisor to lead rolling mill operations, drive production targets, maintain quality, and optimize yield with a focus on RTS activities.

You will design and review roll passes, supervise roll assembly and maintenance, coordinate with maintenance and production, implement QMS/ ISO, and mentor technicians to sustain safe, efficient rolling mill performance.

Qualifications

• Diploma Mechanical or BE/BTech in Mechanical
• 3-8 yrs in steel or rolling industry
• Strong knowledge of rolling mill operations: RTS, roll pass design & roll path
• Good understanding of mechanical systems and breakdown handling
• Knowledge of safety systems and TPM/ISO/QMS requirements
• Training to mill operators and fitters in shift

Responsibilities

• Overall responsibility for smooth and continuous rolling mill operations to achieve production, quality, and yield targets.
• Strong knowledge of roll pass design. Sequence, yield improvement, roll shop coordination.
• Oversee Roll Turning Shop (RTS) operations, including roll grinding, profiling, and inspection
• Plan and control roll life management, dressing cycles, and inventory
• Design, review, and optimize roll passes and roll path layouts
• Coordinate with production and maintenance for effective roll performance
• Supervise roll assembly, disassembly, and installation. Ensure proper bearing fitment, cooling arrangements, and alignment
• Analyze roll and bearing failures and implement corrective actions
• Identify critical mechanical spares for rolling mill and RTS. Prepare technical specifications, evaluate vendors, and coordinate procurement. Maintain optimal spares inventory levels to avoid downtime
• Implement and maintain QMS / ISO systems applicable to rolling mill operations
• Ensure compliance with internal quality standards, customer specifications, and audits
• Lead, train, and mentor supervisors, engineers, and technicians
• Analyze production losses, breakdowns, and rejection data

Preferred candidate profile :

• Education: Diploma Mechanical OR bachelors in mechanical


• Experience: 3-8 yrs in steel or Rolling Industry


• Skills:

• Good understanding of mechanical systems and breakdown handling.
