Job summary

The Peninsular and Oriental Steam Navigation Company is seeking a Senior Executive - Rail Operations to manage rail and inland terminal activities from Okhla Delhi. The role emphasizes liaison with Indian Railways, monitoring rake movements and ensuring SLAs and KPIs are met, with a focus on documentation and EXIM/Customs compliance.

You will coordinate with internal teams and third-party bookings, maintain MIS for rake performance, and drive operational efficiency across domestic and EXIM

Qualifications

• Good communication skills in English, both oral and written.
• Graduate level education with minimum 3 years of experience.
• Strong knowledge of Word, Excel and PowerPoint, and general software skills.

Responsibilities

• Liaise with Indian Railways to maintain TATs and SLAs at divisional and HQ levels (JNPT-DPMT and JNPT-KPFP circuits).
• Monitor rake running and ensure to achieve targeted SLA.
• Induct and detach rakes in the system; manage third-party container and train bookings.
• Share rake running reports for EXIM circuits to align placement and planning.
• Maintain MIS for wagon integrity for Domestic and EXIM circuits.
• Ensure timely attachment of detached units within SLAs to optimize rake capacity.
• Escalate critical wagon integrity issues to management timely.
• Coordinate with railways for TXR, E2E, POH and ROH schedules.
• Maintain performance files for rake utilization for senior management.

Primary objectives

1. 1.To achieve faster turnaround of rake & containers
2. 2.To ensure SLA meets
3. 3.Ensuring proper documentation related to s/line, customs, and Railways.
4. 4.To ensure compliance related to EXIM, customs & railways.
5. 5.Ensuring Proper Customer Correspondence and relationship
6. 6. Ensuring Operational KPIs are achieved.

Key responsibilities

1. 1.Liaising with Indian Railways to maintain TATs and SLAs at divisional and HQ levels. Particularly for JNPT- DPMT and JNPT-KPFP circuits.
2. 2.Monitor Rake running and ensure to achieve targeted SLA
3. 3.Lease rake induction in system and attachment / detachment of units.
4. 4.Third party container and train bookings in system
5. 5.Share rake running report for all rakes in EXIM circuit before morning meeting to align placement and planning of rakes based on operational requirements.
6. 6.Maintain MIS for wagon integrity for both Domestic and EXIM circuits.
7. 7.Ensure timely attachment of detached units within specified SLAs to optimize rake capacity.
8. 8.Raise timely escalation to management for critical issues in wagon integrity.
9. 9.Coordinate railways for TXR, E2E, POH and ROH schedules.
10. 10.Maintain a performance file for rake utilization to share with Senior management.
11. 11.Record enroute detention of rakes on RMS for JNPT-DPMT & JNPT-KPFP circuits.
12. 12.Coordinate with internal stakeholders regarding detention so that the same can be relayed to the customers.
13. 13.Coordinate with operation team to control empty flat runs and ensure PGR stays within target budget. Maintain an MIS for empty flats and PGR monthly basis.
14. 14.Coordinate with TECH team and act as SPOC between PORT, Terminal and TECH teams for dashboard correction to automate rake running file, OPS summary, Geo Fencing, Geo tagging, Automate Detention, Pendency, PGR and other files on dashboard.
15. 15. Maintain MIS for rake performance record all rake delays and detentions along with reasons.

Qualification & competencies

1. 1.Good Communication skills in English language, both oral and written.
2. 2.Qualification – Graduate / Experience - Minimum -3 years.
3. 3.To have very good knowledge of word, excel & PPT as well as Software.
