Job summary

Finolex J Power Systems (FJPS) is seeking a skilled electrical testing professional to oversee and execute all electrical tests for EHV cables, ensuring compliance with IEC/IS standards and customer specs. You will manage test records, support third-party inspections, and maintain ISO 9001:2015 quality documentation.

Responsibilities include planning tests, coordinating with customers and labs, and ensuring traceability of results.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent is preferred.
• Experience in EHV cable testing and QA is desirable.
• Solid knowledge of IEC/IS/ISO standards and testing procedures.

Responsibilities

• Oversee electrical testing activities for EHV cables per national/international standards.
• Plan and conduct high voltage, partial discharge, tan delta, and impulse tests.
• Prepare and maintain daily testing and quality records with traceability.
• Coordinate with customer inspections and third-party laboratories for tests.
• Maintain ISO 9001:2015 and BIS/NABL documentation and records.
• Ensure safe, accurate testing and compliance with procedures and requirements.
• Support external audits and follow up on audit observations.
• Collaborate with Production, Engineering, R&D, and Vendors on testing matters.

Job Summary

To oversee and execute all electrical testing activities for EHV cables, ensuring that raw materials, in-process products, and finished cables are tested in accordance with applicable national and international standards, customer specifications, and quality requirements. The role involves planning and conducting electrical tests, reviewing and maintaining test records, ensuring compliance with testing procedures, supporting customer and third-party inspections, and maintaining the highest standards of quality, accuracy, and testing reliability.

Roles & Responsibilities

1. Apply working knowledge of IEC 60840, IEC 62067, and IS 7098-3 standards for EHV cable testing and quality assurance activities.
2. Conduct routine, acceptance, and type testing of finished EHV cables in accordance with applicable national, international, and customer specifications.
3. Perform and supervise finished cable testing to ensure compliance with specified technical and quality requirements.
4. Conduct all applicable electrical tests, including:
   • High Voltage (HV) Testing
   • Partial Discharge (PD) Testing
   • Tan Delta Testing
   • Impulse Testing
5. Prepare and maintain daily testing and quality reports, ensuring accuracy and proper traceability of test results.
6. Maintain ISO 9001:2015 quality records and ensure proper documentation as per the Quality Management System.
7. Maintain BIS and NABL accreditation-related records, documents, and test reports.
8. Ensure proper maintenance, traceability, and control of all electrical testing records and test certificates.
9. Independently handle customer inspections, including test arrangements, documentation, test witnessing, and resolution of customer technical queries.
10. Prepare and implement Quality Assurance Plans (QAPs) for different customers based on contractual requirements and applicable standards.
11. Carry out vendor development activities, including evaluation and visits to new vendor premises to assess their technical and quality capabilities.
12. Coordinate and follow up with third-party laboratories for EHV cable system type tests, ensuring timely completion and documentation.
13. Coordinate and witness type tests and short-circuit tests at approved third-party laboratories.
14. Ensure testing activities are conducted safely, accurately, and in accordance with approved procedures, standards, and customer requirements.
15. Identify and report testing-related non-conformities/deviations and coordinate corrective actions with concerned departments.
16. Participate in and support external audits for ISO, NABL, and BIS, including preparation of records, coordination with auditors, and closure of audit observations.
17. Maintain effective coordination with Production, Engineering, R&D, Projects, Customers, Vendors, and Third-Party Laboratories on testing and quality-related matters.
18. Use SAP for relevant quality, testing, material, and documentation activities and maintain accurate system records.
19. Ensure compliance with all applicable quality, testing, safety, and customer-specific requirements related to EHV cable manufacturing and testing.
20. Support continuous improvement initiatives in EHV cable testing, quality systems, testing procedures, and laboratory practices.
