Job summary

Meluha The Fern An Ecotel Hotel in Mumbai is seeking a dynamic Sales Manager to drive corporate, MICE and leisure business. You will lead lead generation, client visits, proposals and contract negotiations, coordinating closely with Front Office, Reservations and F&B to deliver exceptional service and revenue growth.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and develop new business opportunities across corporate, MICE, leisure, and other segments.
  • Generate leads, conduct sales calls, client visits, and presentations to promote the hotel.
  • Maintain strong relationships with corporate clients, travel agencies, event companies, and partners.
  • Handle existing accounts with regular follow-ups to maximize revenue.
  • Achieve monthly and annual room night, revenue, and business development targets.
  • Prepare proposals, quotations, and contracts; negotiate rates and terms.
  • Coordinate with Front Office, Reservations, F&B, Banquets to ensure smooth execution.
  • Follow up on enquiries, group bookings, events, and conferences.
  • Monitor competitor activities and market trends.
  • Prepare sales reports, forecasts, and updates for management.

Job description

  • Identify and develop new business opportunities across corporate, MICE, leisure, and other relevant market segments.
  • Generate leads, conduct sales calls, client visits, presentations, and property inspections to promote the hotel.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with corporate clients, travel agencies, event companies, and other business partners.
  • Handle existing accounts and ensure regular follow-ups to maximize repeat business and revenue.
  • Achieve monthly and annual room night, revenue, and business development targets.
  • Prepare and submit proposals, quotations, contracts, and other sales-related documentation.
  • Negotiate rates and commercial terms with clients within the approved guidelines.
  • Coordinate with Front Office, Reservations, F&B, Banquets, and other departments to ensure smooth execution of client requirements.
  • Follow up on corporate enquiries, group bookings, events, meetings, and conferences.
  • Conduct market visits and monitor competitor activities, rates, packages, and promotions.
  • Maintain an updated database of clients, prospects, sales calls, and business opportunities.
  • Participate in sales blitzes, trade shows, exhibitions, networking events, and client engagement activities.
  • Prepare regular sales reports, forecasts, and updates for the management.
  • Monitor payment follow-ups and coordinate with the Finance team regarding outstanding accounts.
  • Ensure adherence to the hotel's sales policies, brand standards, and business development strategies.
  • Work closely with the Sales team to identify opportunities for upselling and cross-selling hotel facilities and services.
  • Represent the hotel professionally during client meetings and external business engagements.
  • Support the Director of Sales / Sales Manager in achieving overall departmental objectives.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent sales, negotiation, and relationship-management abilities.
  • Good knowledge of the local corporate and hospitality market.
  • Target-oriented and result-driven approach.
  • Strong presentation and networking skills.
  • Ability to generate new business and convert leads into confirmed business.
  • Good understanding of hotel operations and revenue-generating departments.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and hotel sales/CRM systems.
