Job summary

SAR Group of Companies in Mumbai seeks an experienced Ocean Export Operations professional to manage nominations, bookings, and coordination with overseas agents, shipping lines, and CHA. You will handle SI submissions, HBL/MBL processes, and track shipments end-to-end.

The role requires strong coordination, communication, and problem-solving skills to ensure timely documentation and smooth execution of all nominated exports across multiple shipments daily.

Qualifications

• Experience in Ocean Export Operations and nomination shipments.
• Knowledge of FCL/LCL, SI, HBL/MBL procedures, and Incoterms.
• Ability to coordinate with overseas agents, customers, and carriers.

Responsibilities

• Handle end-to-end Ocean Export Operations for nominated FCL & LCL shipments.
• Coordinate with nominated customers, overseas agents, shipping lines, NVOCCs, transporters, CHA, and other stakeholders for smooth shipment execution.
• Receive and process shipment nominations from overseas agents/customers and ensure timely coordination with the concerned parties.
• Manage booking placement, vessel schedules, cut-off timelines, and shipment execution as per customer/agent requirements.
• Prepare and submit Shipping Instructions (SI) within the stipulated timelines.
• Coordinate with customers, agents, and shipping lines for HBL & MBL issuance, amendments, surrender, and telex release.
• Monitor cargo movement, container pickup, stuffing, customs clearance, documentation, and vessel departure.
• Provide timely shipment status updates to overseas agents, customers, and internal stakeholders.
• Handle rollovers, vessel changes, documentation discrepancies, delays, and other shipment exceptions.
• Ensure shipments are handled in accordance with customer/agent SOPs, export regulations, and shipping line requirements.
• Coordinate with the overseas agent for nomination-related requirements, documentation, pre-alerts, and shipment updates.
• Ensure timely invoicing, job closure, and completion of shipment documentation.
• Update all required shipment milestones and operational details in Logi-sys.
• Maintain accurate operational records, nomination trackers, and MIS reports.
• Ensure high-quality customer and agent service through proactive follow-up and timely resolution of operational issues.

Key Responsibilities Ocean Export (Nomination Shipments)

Preferred Candidate Profile

• Strong knowledge of Ocean Export Operations, preferably with experience in nomination shipments.
• Experience handling FCL & LCL, Direct, Nomination & Cross-Trade shipments.
• Good knowledge of HBL, MBL, BL Surrender, Telex Release, SI, and Pre-Alert procedures.
• Good understanding of Incoterms and international shipping practices.
• Experience coordinating with overseas agents, nominated customers, shipping lines, NVOCCs, transporters, and CHA.
• Strong coordination, communication, follow-up, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple shipments and strict documentation/cut-off timelines.
• Proficiency in MS Excel and freight forwarding software, preferably Logi-sys.
