Qualifications

  • 4+ years of experience in E-commerce / Marketplace / Category Management.
  • Strong experience managing B2B e-commerce categories and large product catalogs.
  • Master/Advanced level Excel skills with Pivot Tables, XLOOKUP/INDEX-MATCH, SUMIFS, dashboards, Power Query.

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Category Management professional to lead category strategy and growth for our B2B e-commerce marketplace. The role will be responsible for category revenue, assortment, pricing, merchandising, customer experience, analytics, and overall category performance.

The ideal candidate should be highly data-driven, an advanced/master-level Excel user, and comfortable leveraging AI tools to improve analysis, automation, decision-making, and productivity.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute category strategy, growth plans, and annual targets.
  • Own category performance across revenue, margin, traffic, conversion, AOV, and profitability.
  • Manage category structure, taxonomy, product assortment, attributes, filters, and navigation.
  • Identify new product and category opportunities using customer data, market trends, and competitive analysis.
  • Drive pricing strategy, promotions, discounting, and competitive benchmarking.
  • Lead website merchandising and optimize category pages, search, product visibility, cross-sell, and upsell.
  • Analyze category and product-level performance and convert insights into actionable growth initiatives.
  • Build and maintain advanced Excel dashboards, reports, models, forecasts, and business analyses.
  • Use AI tools and automation for data analysis, reporting, content optimization, competitor research, forecasting, and process improvement.
  • Identify opportunities to automate repetitive category management and reporting activities using AI, Excel, and other digital tools.
  • Partner with Product/Tech teams to improve website functionality, search, filters, and customer journey.
  • Work closely with Marketing, Sales, Operations, Procurement, and Creative teams to achieve category objectives.
  • Establish and monitor category KPIs, dashboards, reporting, and performance reviews.
  • Identify underperforming categories/products and develop corrective action plans.
  • Lead new category/product launches from assortment planning through website execution and go-to-market.
  • Ensure high standards of catalog accuracy, pricing, content quality, and product availability.
  • Conduct regular competitor, market, and customer analysis.
  • Develop and implement SOPs and scalable category management processes.
  • Manage, mentor, and develop the Category Management team.
Required Skills & Experience
  • 4+ years of experience in E-commerce / Marketplace / Category Management.
  • Strong experience managing B2B e-commerce categories and large product catalogs.
  • Strong understanding of category strategy, pricing, merchandising, revenue growth, and profitability.
  • Master/Advanced-level Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, XLOOKUP/INDEX-MATCH, SUMIFS, data analysis, dashboards, Power Query, and advanced formulas.
  • Strong understanding and practical application of AI tools such as ChatGPT, Gemini, Copilot, or similar platforms.
  • Ability to use AI for data analysis, insights generation, automation, research, content creation, reporting, and productivity improvement.
  • Establish and maintain price lists, pricing rules, discount structures, promotional pricing, and customer-specific pricing for B2B customers.
  • Experience with e-commerce CJA such as Magento/Adobe Commerce, Google analytics.
  • Understanding of SEO, CRO, website analytics, customer journey, and digital merchandising.
  • Strong commercial and financial understanding, including revenue, margin, AOV, and profitability.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and cross-functional coordination skills.
  • Ability to translate data + AI-driven insights into measurable business actions.
