Job description

Role & responsibilities

• Domain Leadership: Manage 2-3 engineering pods (1015+ engineers and potentially subordinate leads/managers), driving the execution of our cloud platform strategy and UI modernization.
• Metrics-Driven Execution: Measure and track the progress of feature development, quality of the code, and productivity of the teams. Work with other engineering leaders to continuously improve overall development workflows.
• Architectural Strategy: Partner with Architects to drive technical roadmaps. Oversee the evolution of legacy monolithic applications into scalable .NET microservices and responsive React micro-frontends.
• Organizational Growth: Partner with the recruiting team through the entire hiring processsourcing, interviewing, and onboarding. Create action plans for both under- and high-performing team members.
• Process Improvement: Drive continuous process improvements and innovation. Be a subject matter expert, lead the team by example, and exert strategic influence across departments.

Preferred candidate profile

• Experience: 5+ years of engineering management experience, with at least 8+ years of prior hands-on experience in web application or platform development.
  
• Technical Expertise: Strong background in distributed systems, REST/GraphQL interfaces, modern .NET Core architectures, and complex React SPA deployments.
  
• Strategic Vision: Experience establishing and reviewing business metrics, with the ability to articulate and provide visibility to the team on how new features meet those metrics.
  
• Problem Solving: Proven ability to manage priorities, set appropriate expectations with peer engineering management, and deliver complex, multi-quarter features on time with high quality.
  
• Talent Development: Ability to identify the training needs of various team members and ramp new hires on products, processes, and technology rapidly.
