Job summary

Recro is seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead a high-performing product engineering team in Bengaluru, driving architecture, development, and delivery of scalable enterprise software.

You will mentor engineers, own architectural decisions, and collaborate with Product, QA, Customer Success, Sales, and Marketing to build robust, reliable applications.

The role requires hands-on leadership, strong problem-solving, and the ability to guide Agile teams through full product lifecycles.

Qualifications

• 8–12 years of software development experience.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in a product-based company.
• At least 2 years of experience as an Engineering Manager, managing teams of 5–8 engineers.
• Hands-on experience with backend technologies: Java, Node.js.
• Strong knowledge of relational and NoSQL databases (PostgreSQL, MongoDB, MySQL, SQL Server, or Oracle).
• Experience designing and building scalable, distributed systems with non-functional requirements.
• Experience in Agile/Scrum environments and end-to-end product lifecycles.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with QA teams to ensure high-quality, defect‑free product releases.
• Monitor production systems, troubleshoot critical issues, and continuously improve system performance and reliability.
• Drive innovation by evaluating and adopting modern technologies and architectural patterns.
• Maintain technical documentation, architecture decisions, engineering roadmaps, and development standards.

Required Skills & Experience

• 8–12 years of software development experience.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in a product‑based company.
• At least 2 years of experience as an Engineering Manager, managing teams of 5–8 engineers.
• Strong hands‑on experience with one or more backend technologies:
• Java

• Strong knowledge of relational and NoSQL databases including PostgreSQL, MongoDB, MySQL, SQL Server, or Oracle.
• Proven experience designing and building scalable, distributed systems with strong understanding of non‑functional requirements.
